Do Thai Women Just Don'T Get It ?

Recommended Posts

There are most likely many men with plenty of cash willing to invest in a business to make a living in Thailand. So, actually it would be a win win situation for both. Women have financial security and men can live in Thailand. Just in most cases it doesn't work. Or does it ? What are your opinions/experiences ?

Don't understand the link between the thread title and the body message. What are you asking? Do businesses in Thailand work? Depends upon the business. Can Farang open businesses to live with and support their wives? Of course they can. Does Thailand want people to dodge Visa issues with a fake business? no. Do most Thai women get it? Depends what she looks like, but on average I would say yes, they get it a lot.

So if I can understand the OP correctly, the main reason for marrying a Thai lady is so that you can set up a business in Thailand in her name, and the OP is surprised that so few Thai ladies have not set themselves up as entrepreneurs and financial advisers to take advantage of this opportunity.

I put it to you, OP, that you are wrong on both counts.

Anyone considering conducting or owning a business in Thailand should follow these golden rules:

Do your research. Survey what sorts of businesses you can legally run and not run in Thailand, including the required monies, documentation, names involved and how to set it up.

Always begin and continue a business within the laws of Thailand, never try to bend the rules.

Never leave yourself vulnerable by verbal agreements or trust of others. Ensure that you hold full control of your business affairs and assets at all times.

Do not make a Thai girlfriend or even a wife in some cases a major partner within the company. This may have serious repercussions later on if the relationship fails.

Anyone who is not able follow these guidelines for what could be various reasons should not attempt to set up any sorts of businesses in Thailand.

i have had this discussion with plenty of blokes. they fail every time. forget any business in Thailand unless it's based outside the country.

Didn't Ford just open another multi million dollar plant in Thailand? And who was that silk guy. He did pretty well; people even bought that kidnap/killing thing when he split town trying to get away from that pregnant Issan lady.

I think you should amend your statement to read, "If you are dumb, Thailand is not going to make you smart and if you never ran a bar this is about the last place in the world to learn." Although Pattaya is a great place to start a newspaper or paramilitary organization or NGO.

Why doesn't it work you ask??????.........

Lets start with It amazes me that men will immediately set their entire lives up around a women here in Thailand. Meet her and set up camp in a hurry and drink the "Kool-Aid". In fact even more unnerving some men in their late 50's or older drop their entire world into the lap of a 20 year old thinking she will manage it perfectly. Fools...

I swear this place draws some real knuckleheads. Ask yourself this question. Would you do this in the country you just left behind? For the ones that do or did, does/did it work out????

Why do men think the answer to all their problems can be answered with a move to Thailand and that some girl with probably a limited education can handle it all?

I just do not get it.

That pretty well sums it I up i figure.

The problem is some Thai women believe that it's only a win-win situation if they can remove the farang from the equation.

amazing how negative all your responses are and how you instantly blame me to be 'yet another stupid freshman'. A lot of frustrated guys out there. To put it right: I am not married, I don't have a business nor do I have plans to do business (based on marrige) nor did I lose any money. I am doing pretty well so far...I just wonder

Well the question is a bit silly in my opinion.

So what really is the point of this thread? The title of your thread implies that Thai women should always choose money over love in order to secure future financial stability. But of course, it's already happening and as you say, doesn't always work out well. And why? Because money isn't everything. Duh.
