a young tutsi is on his paper route in the early 60s and listening to his transistor radio...one of my favorites, you look up and there is the vault of the San Gabriel mountains in Pasadena...where later he ambled about on LSD contemplating the meaning of life and acquiring the 'LSD perspective'...

huge significance...

Brought up on war comics in the early 60s, Captain Hurricane had no problem disposing of 50 Germans or Japs single-handedly. 'Achtung!' Donner und blitzen!  shouted the hapless Huns before falling beneath a hail of bullets from the fearless Captain as Batman Malone stood to one side lost in admiration.

Another one for the ages, tutsi.  I used that term once in a TV thread and had a female poster reply, laughing, that she hadn't heard that term in ages.

Just that picture of terraced houses brings me out in a cold sweat, and the picture was taken on a sunny day!

I've tried describing the windy, desolate and grimy streets of Hull back in the 60s and early 70s to my missus but she can't relly grasp it. Like the cold.

Mick Ronson came from Hull.

Featuring Mick Ronson on The Rats '69 tune, Telephone Blues

And an excellent alternate version of Madman Across The Water with Ronson on guitar which was not released until '92.  It was, rather than an alternate, the original version of the song.  The alternate was used on the '71 release of Tumbleweed Connections.  Beautiful guitar work by Ronson, indeed.

This one's for you, bannork.  LOL

This could start a trend !!

Posting a song about your hometown !!

I already posted Smokie’s Back to Bradford ( which was bad enough ! ) but feel I have to inflict more pain on you by posting this !!

I apologise in advance.

If you made it to 0.15 you would catch a glimpse of Bradford Jesus !, a very popular character in my childhood.

Too funny.  The night glam rock was born . . . 22 Feb., 1970.  Read the comments in the video.

Didn't think footage existed but lo and behold!  Amazing what's out on YT these days.  Whatever song was captured in this brief 0:45 clip sounds good, though.  Too bad the clip is so short (and lacking quality)

Always loved this number from Mott and the live version does not disappoint.

Edit.gif  Apologies for the Ronson overload!  I couldn't help but be a huge admirer.
