Australia - The Lucky Country - On borrowed money.
I am 77 and a pensioner I lived in LOS for years I moved back to OZ because I couldn't afford health insurance in LOS and don't tell me it is expansive to live in OZ. My rent is just 480 AUD per fortnight that's not more than a unit in BKK but my pension is is 2600 AUD and have not had an increase in 8 years have free healthcare and free hospital and get discount on my pensioner card in many shops. Not everybody lives in the east and shops at Woolworth. -

Are we really better than the Russians, Indians, Arabs and Chinese in the eyes of Thais?
White (any country just white) - Absolute gods in Thailand. Immigration staff will speak to you in a soft voice with smiles all around. You will be surrounded by 5 members of staff trying to help you. People will bend over backwards to help you. Schools accept you and you will bypass all those silly health checks and police checks. Black - Treated well. Generally well treated and very popular with the ladies. Chinese, korean, Japanese - Welcomed. You will get an acceptable level of treatment. Nothing special. Indians, Arabs, Pakistanis - Absolute disgraceful treatment by Thai's. You will be followed around the mall. Random checks at the airports. That elevator door will be closing in your face every time. Awkward job interviews about that focus on your facial hair. Parents will pull their kids away from you. -

First Day of Thailand’s “10 Dangerous Days” Sees 52 Deaths and 318 Injuries
On Christmas Eve we were waiting at a set of traffic lights and were rear ended by a pickup. The driver admitted to Police that he'd been working for two days straight, knew he was too tired to drive but did so anyway. He was fined 400 bht for careless driving. A few weeks ago my wife was stopped by Police for not wearing a seatbelt. She was fined 500 bht.
