For those DIYers in north BKK a look around the new MegaHome store is well worth the time if you're in the area.

It's at:

49 Moo 5, Klong. Luang district.
Pathumthani 12120.
Phone Number: 02-516-0088.
Number, FAX: 02-516-0089.

GPS 14.043483,100.617752

Website: http://www.megahome.co.th/ Thai only, Google translate works quite well

Place is huge, larger range of power tools than HomePro, prices cheaper or at least comparable.

Thanks for the information, Competition is a good thing

also thanks for the GPS address

Indeed JC.

Actually I think the three DIY places in that area HomePro, Boonthavorn and now MegaHome complement each other, what one does not carry (or has a limited range) one of the others will have.

Thai Watsadu and Global House hardware stores are very good for DIYers....I prefer these stores over HomePro since they will have more DIYer type stuff....HomePro seems to be turning into a city slickers and housewife hardware store...but with that being said I still use HomePro but it's like my third choice now. Boonthavorn very good for tile/bathroom/kitchen products. Never been in a MegaHome store....in fact, this is the first time I've heard the name. But the moral of this story is a person needs to use a variety of stores to get the best selections and costs....preaching to the choir I know.
