BANGKOK: -- Banharn Silpa-acha, chairman of the Chart Thai Pattana Party, has led four other former executive committees of the defunct Chart Thai Party to apply as members of the Chart Thai Pattana Party after their 5-year political activities ban expired Monday.

Banharn and all the Chart Thai Party’s executive board members were banned from politics for five year and his Chart Thai Party dissolved after the Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Holders of Political Posts ruled them guilty in election frauds on December 2008.

The former leader of Chart Thai Party applied party membership at 09.29 a.m. Monday along with other senior politicians namely Somsak Prisananantakul, Prapat Phosuthon, Chongchai Thiengtham and Kanchana Silpa-archa.

A total of 109 pigeons were freed to mark the freedom and the beginning of their political career again.

A total of 109 politicians in the coalition government led by the defunct Thai Rak Thai party, which included Chart Thai, were banned from politics by the Supreme Court on election frauds.

Chart Thai Party later registered under the new Chart Thai Pattana name, while Thai Rak Thai which was also dissolved, registered to Palang Prachachon and later to Pheu Thai.

That will give a boost to the corruption index.

Good to see fresh blood with new ideas coming into politics

Where there's muck there's money and visa versa.

The dinosaur race is quite apparently not over. Wondering if Chavalit Yongchaiyuth also has some goodies up his political sleeve for "Melly klitsmat"?

Who said he was ever out of politics? Out of the limelight perhaps, but behind the scenes he meddled and meddled and meddled for a straight 5 years.

Hate to keep harping on , In a real democracy these shonky's would be banned for life, end of story. bah.gif

Ha ha, at least the slippery eel spoke the truth when asked about his reform Thailand committee- he said no one was interested in listening to him- so true!

Sad.. not again.. This man has not much for this country.

We all know that bringing people like this back into Parliament next time around is contributing still further to the future instability of the country. Seems to be a never ending circle of daftness surrounding the country. Is it really 2013?

Hmm, that trillions of baht finance bill stirred up the old crew. Chow down boys, chow down, plenty to go round.

His greatest achievement. Using his party's control of the Agric Ministry which controls the Irrigation Dept to save Suphan Buri from flooding by flooding over provinces instead. Quite a statesman.

Time to retire and pop his clogs to let other corrupt s.o.b.s take his place.

Have to renovate the disabled ramps and make room for the walking frames in Government House soon.....these old goats should just sit back and watch the soaps and grow old with some degree of dignity.....politics for them has long past.......

But...I guess the trough has enough room for a few more snouts...

They are all junkies, addicted to politics, can't let go....any other job/profession just won't do, it's got to be politics and nothing else. No compromise, no alternative, no option...why?...you ask, why?...because they love lording it over others, that's all.

What a Great Leap Forward for Thai politics.

Do they need new roads and trains to Suphan Buri again?

Very much so, have you tried to catch a train from Suphan ??

Pretty staion though........

Are they still running these phil?

And Thailand is about to slip further into the corruption black hole....what more could you expect from this terrible administration...? bah.gif

He's coming back at 81. He smells power, victory, and money. His brother and his son are already in positions of power in typical Thai style. He's tan, he's ready and he's rested. He is back.

Don't these lifelong Thai hacks know by now that they are part of the problem and not the solution? It is amazing how they keep recycling themselves.
