BANGKOK, Jan 24 – Police believed that assailants who used hand grenades in the incidents at Bantad Thong intersection and the Victory Monument belong to the same group.

Deputy National Police Chief Aek Angsnanond said the hand grenades used at the two rally sites were the same model –RGD-5 Code 48, leading police to believe that the incidents were the work of the same group. The grenades are available along the northern, northeastern and eastern borders.

Police said RGD5 explosives were used during the unrest in Bangkok in 2006, 2010 and 2012.

Gen Aek said police have received tips from many people, and collection of evidence has continued.

A native from Nakhon Si Thammarat was killed and scores injured in the two attacks on anti-government protesters. (MCOT online news)

They calls this news? They said the same thing last week with only a few more details added this time

Sent from my GT-S5310 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

That's what makes it news, it hasn't all been reported previously.

Only The Royal Thai Police would hold a pressconference to tell the world:"We haven't got a clue"

We knew that already!coffee1.gif

"We haven't got a clue"

Fabricating things about the thread again, eh.

Add 2013 and now 2014 to those years and reality bites at just how unstable our hosts are becoming.

riddle, what does the navy have thats the other forces dont?

satellites, communication towers, network dishes, freq hop radios (well, i guess the army has them too), BORDER protection units, Military units that train WITH REAL NAVY SEALS abroad (unlike drunk US trainning in thailand... *coff coff cobra gold) and tons and tons of surveillance devices. and let me tell you how bored the thai navy is at sea.

sure police work here is NON existent, they are trainned to accept handouts. but they are simple thais who like to keep their noses clean.

IMHO, i hate, loath, any contract killer. but in some cases of Cambodia, they may have no choice. Hunsin merely mimics his cool friend Taksin. thailand will be like cambodia soon if we do nothing and let Thaksin/Hunsin take over.

One gets the distinct impression - in light of this police report - that the army's warnings to the police recently to conduct truly above-board investigations is being heeded. No longer is the Surapong line of protesters against protesters being used. And this persuasion from the army likely came with some weight. As always, what happens behind the scenes is infinitely more revealing than what happens in the light of day. In the context of the game of chess, it could be said that the Yingluck administration is now in the process of dodging a succession of " checks ", where all actions taken are now not on actually surviving the game, but surviving it for as long as they can.

and they identified which explosive it was using those wonderfully expensive detectors the inventor of which is now doing time.

Here is a big clue, they bombed the mobs, meaning they are probably from the rival party...both sides need to have their leaders indicted for numerous crimes. Indict the leaders and they will root out the actual offenders to serve up to the police themselves...either that or promise some poor patsy that they will pay them 3 million to go to jail for the cause...unfortunately, the patsies usually never see a baht.

available in the north, north east and east, now lets see, who occupies these areas and who do they support. Pretty well tells us exactly who it is doing all this.

What, because the story didn't mention it you think they aren't available in Malaysia and along the southern border too? Bear in mind the major media are required to spin all news to make the Red Shirts look bad. But on reflection i realize you are too.

Available anywhere in Thailand. Yaba comes in from the Burma border, do you think it stays only at the border?

For all we know the grenade could have made it's way all over the country in the past year.

BTW, there's a stockpile at a couple of military bases and used for training purposes. The guys who defuse and dismantle the IEDS and bombs have to see and work with the ordinance, in order to be trained.

Are those grenades sold along the north, northeastern and eastern boarders? Is it per piece or per kilogram?
