the ptp govt, yl, chalerm and tarit are all now classed as murderers with this, obviouslt the protesters in the back of the truck would have shot themselves according to chalerm/tarit as the police/reds are not armed. I will enjoy watching these scumbages squirm while they are being locked away and no amount of money will save them.

Very sad. All would be alive if it were not for the idiot meglomaniac Suthep.

Very sad, all would be alive if the government hadn't started describing the democratic anti-government protests as 'rebels', 'terrorists', 'mob', etc., etc. All because they tried to push a blanket amnesty bill covering all of a sudden both Thaksin's last two years in/out of office and even Yingluck's first two years. As if Ms. Yingluck or her cabinet full of capable, knowledgeble, full of potential people had done anything (wrong).

If the current lot who is desperately clinging onto power postponed and scheduled the election in second part of May 2014 all of this would've been over long ago. The amnesty bill killed for good and the majority if not all Bangkokians off the streets. Back to normalcy. But they were exposed. They have never given up on the amnesty bill. The blood is on Chalerm's, Yingluck's and the rest of the gang hands.

You're right. And in 2010 if PTP and Red Shirts had accepted Ahbisit's offer for an election they could have avoiding all that violence and burning of property and all those deaths.

They always seem to chose the solution with the most violent outcomes.

Again .. they've been politically organized using hatred as the organizing strategy by Thakisn's (Amsterdam's) organizers. It's not surprising that violence comes hand in hand with Red shirts, PTP, and Thaksinites. They don't care how many deaths and lives are ruined in their quest to become rich elite overlords of their opponents. They are 10 times worse than the so called "Amorat" they they constantly complain about.

Bilge and nonsense.

Presumably it was the police or a third hand and certainly not Sutheps lot, who threw the grenade at the cop who, in your opinion foolishly, ( in mine heroically ) kicked it away....................

Please try your best to tell me in detail what Khun Suthep's proposals for "reform" ( the word is used rather loosely) actually are.

Any idea ??

wouldn't it be somewhat presumpteous of Suthep to proposed detailed reforms? It's the idea to have a reform panel to work at guidelines, proposals with input of common people?

BTW the action of the policeman may just have been an instinctive reaction. To discuss whether it was foolish or heroically seems somewhat demeaning.

Well that's one more massive failure for you. The rice scam, the tablet debacle, the first car scheme etc., the country thanks you for getting tossed before you got your hands on the 2 trillion, with no oversight.

Should we not be thanking YL three times?

I know. All those unarmed police officers you see in your distorted reality somehow managed to kill dozen of clearly unarmed protesters. Keep believing in nonsense. You won't get far.

As I said earlier. The majority of people rebelled against the amnesty bill. The amnesty bill is not completely killed off. As a result support for Suthep continues even though many people personally do not like him they have no choice but to support him until the amnesty bill is definitely off the table. Postponing the election was an easy way out for everyone. The caretaker government has chosen the war path instead of compromising.

The Government now in power is democratically elected. AND have offered to hold elections again, before the end of their legal term. But the protesters don't want that because the majority of people will vote the Government back in again, All those who are in the streets causing problems rioting are only hurting Thailand and democracy. If people fire at police then they should expect to be fired back on. whats on trial here is democracy.

As compared to one day of Ukrane protests with 18 dead..??

Thai protests, although disruptive and noisy, are relatively peaceful.

Count you blessings, not your curses.

Yes, let's put some global perspective on what is and what is not violent.

Yeh, but we just had elections, so people still think their vote counts. Ukraine isn't due elections till 2017!

Plus 20 dead a day (the Ukrainian daily death total from the article you linked to) isn't that much different from the 2010 protests daily head count.

2010 was during Suthep's last stint in government incidentally, so it's not like we don't know how it ends if he gets power.
