February 26, 201412 yr Been looking on alibaba etc for businesses that do powder coating either in Nakhon Pathom or Bangkok areas. I'd like to find someone who specialises in or has a lot of experience with powder coating motorcycle parts . ( i want rims/hubs/spokes done ) Does anyone have any info /recommendations they'd care to share , preferably about businesses in the nakhon pathom - BangKae zone. Thanks DB.

February 26, 201412 yr i have seen a powder coating company called 'Pataya Powder Coating' in Burapa Bike fest - https://www.facebook.com/PattayaPowderCoating - They were presenting their work there and they were good job. They also have a lot of colors. I am thinking to powder coat the swingarm and rearset on my cbr650f to black but my fear is it might take a long time. Anyone knows, how long it takes to powder coat something including drying it etc.?
February 26, 201412 yr LL2: No drying. When it cools off coming out of the oven, it's good to go. Check vids on YouTube.

February 26, 201412 yr Can anyone tell me where Pattaya Powder Coating is located. I've looked on Sukumvit between Soi 23 & 25, but no success. I saw one shop that looked right, but when I asked the guy "powdercoat?" he just pointed south and started talking real fast in Thai? 5 5 5. Thanks.

Maybe you could leave a deposit and have them call you when they are ready. Maybe a little tip might make a difference. Or maybe just go ahead and leave it there and rent a bike for a week. You'd look good on a Click! 5 5 5
February 26, 201412 yr 1. ricco in chiang mai is the way to go. 2. Pattaya powder coat is on the east side of sukhumvit south of toyota. It is off the hwy a little with no real sign. 3. A swingarm should come off easy. The issue is if you need to remove the seals and bearings.

Okay, I found PPC, thanks to Yankee99 Hiding in plain sight. A sign would likely be a good investment for this company. I left bike there and they said they would call in 3 days. Price including take-off and put-back for 7 ~hand-sized parts B3400.

It seems from Facebook, that Performance Powder Coating (or PPC Customcoat) is now known as Chameleon Industries and is on Rama 9. Anyone have any experience? Chaneleon seems good and professional but their prices are insane even higher than in europe. When asking about the reason they said they are using high quality material only which mostly of it is imported. Try on facebook ort painthouse
October 16, 201510 yr If you are at all unsure about the powder coaters, watch them while they work. There are two stages, one, the most important is preparation, which involves degreasing and shock-blasting and easy to inspect prior to powder coating, especially the latter. If this doesn't look 100% make them do it again as the coating will be compromised. There are no fumes associated with powder coating, so be there and check everything before it is baked. If ever I get Thais to do things I supervise, the minute I turn my back things usually go wrong. Example I watched the Honda mechanic strip the Phanton engine to clean it, right up until he was about to split and clean the sump, when the engine blew for the second time I found it hadn't actually split the sump to clean it. It just beggers belief. So watch them like a hawk.
October 16, 201510 yr Umm wonder how much to do the Cbr wheels? If memory serves and if you live in Bangkok about 400 baht a wheel but you have to take out the bearings etc. I will check..

If memory serves and if you live in Bangkok about 400 baht a wheel but you have to take out the bearings etc. I will check.. 400 Baht sound cheap to me! I hope you're right though. I need to send mine off pretty soon (last trial fit should be this weekend) so I'll be calling ORT as per Hili's suggestion and may get a price from Chameleon too just to see if they are that expensive.
