Hua Hin:-- The Hua Hin Red Cross will conduct the annual blood donation campaign from 8th to 12th April 2014.

Entitled, “Blood Donation with Goodwill in Summer”, the campaign aims to save blood for patients in Hua Hin hospitals and neighboring areas for the long holiday of Songkran.

Those who would like to donate blood can do so between 8.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday and Friday, between 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday and between 9 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. on Saturday. The Red Cross Clinic is located in Soi 76.
According to Mr. Wichien Phetnajak, the Chief Officer of the Hua Hin Red Cross, this annual campaign will raise awareness among Thai people of how much important blood donations are to patients and other people who are urgently in need. During Songkran, Thai people usually spend time with their family at home or travel together, resulting in a lower number of blood donors. However more blood is required throughout the period because the longer the holiday is, the more people are injured in accidents. This increases every year.
Although Songkran is a holiday period, hospitals have to work round the clock. Many hospitals in Prachuab Khirikhan still need blood for medical treatment and about 80 to 100 units of blood are required daily.
Anyone interested in donating blood can ask for more information from the Hua Hin Red Cross at tel. 032 512 370.

Can a farang donate blood in Thailand? I'm from the UK but have fairly rare blood group AB negative and used to donate 6 times a year in UK - I would like to donate here - is it complicated and not worth the hassle or easy to do?
