Dr Weng denies UDD owns the illegal war weapons

203322-imagepng-305669-wpcf_728x413.jpg

BANGKOK: -- United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) core member Dr WengTochirakarn today (Thursday) brushed aside the suggestion that the large arms and ammunition cache seized in the past two days by police and army troops belong to the UDD.

He also said that the two UDD identity cards found at an apartment room in Samut Sakhon’s Krathumban district where a sizeable firearms were seized were a plant to defame the UDD and to paint red-shirt followers in a negative light for stocking up illegal weapons.

He suggested that fingerprints on the two ID cards should be examined whether they match with any of the UDD members.

Dr Weng asked the police and the army to investigate the case in an honest and straightforward manner.

Commenting on Army Commander-in-Chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha’s five-point “homework” to be considered by the political rivals, the ODD core leader said that only one of the five was acceptable – that is the call for a referendum to determine whether the people want reform before election or vice versa.

He ruled a compromise between the UDD and the PDRC saying that their respective demands are simply beyond settlement.

" He suggested that fingerprints on the two ID cards should be examined whether they match with any of the UDD members "

Good idea.. no just line up ALL the UDD members so their finger prints can be taken .. Dr Weng said it was ok!

PS : note that Samut Sakhons Krathumban district is about 15 kms from the Red rally site.

Does he have a list of members, perhaps a record of membership fees paid, even a voting record for UDD decisions? Do these things exist, or is the Democracy part of the name a facade for a group of mercenary propagandists?

So he is no better at lying than he is being a leader. Hope he receives what he dishes out on others.

Old comrades of Dr. Weng are telling stories about him and Tida when they were "fighting" (well the others were fighting) in the forest.

Dr. Weng wasn't exactly a Castro or Guevara leading from the front laugh.png

Even than he disliked war weapons....and preferred to let the others fight laugh.png

Are all the fingerprints from all the UDD members on record? Because I can't imagine that all UDD members have criminal records....

Redshirts don't pay membership fees, they get paid!

Dr. weng was in Vietnam for a while in the 60's or 70's learning the trade of obfuscation, lies, propaganda and indoctrination. Communists like to have a two pronged approach. The visible vocal one and the (nearly) invisible violent one. Of course the left hand is supposed to be able to (almost) honestly say not to know what the other hand is up to, assuming they admit to have another hand that is.

And here you have it, the face and voice of UDDer intransigence. No compromise. Denial of facts. This is the picture of fanaticism and a taste of what would have happened had these Red terrorizers been left unchecked to loose anarchy, disorder, and fear over the entire country. Thanks be for the declaration of martial law. It's clear we were but hours away from a wave of violent terror attacks.

The Army specialist unit along with some others are handling this , the White Mazda is a nice bit of intrigue though.

So the accused suggest a simple finger print test should be carried out, he sounds confident enough. Good idea. They have the names on UDD cards, cross reference any prints with those on the Thai ID card database, check the premises and do the same, too easy isn't it. If no match, well, there's a little more policing to do. One thing is for sure, jumping to conclusions should remain the remit of the police and others investigating the case, not the TV posse.

The surreal Dr. Weng. You'd think the UDD would pick a spokesman who could deliver lines like that with more credibility. Like during the Ratchaprason rally in 2010 when he assured the media that not only was Thaksin not involved with the movement, but the movement actually didn't really have much interest in him. His statement might have had more weight if he were not surrounded by a sea of people wearing Thaksin hats, Thaksin shirts, Thaksin buttons, and holding up Thaksin placards, or where Thaksin was routinely transmitting giving fiery addresses to the crowds through video. Yes, Dr. Weng, you sure know how to tell the truth.

His wife is not much better, the same week a definitive video of Red Shirts torching Central World came to light she was saying that they didn't do it.

Then there's the video of the UDD leaders meeting where she said the Red Shirts didn't condone the use of violence, literally 20 seconds after the whole convention hall had erupted in cheers and clapping at the "good" news of five anti-government protestors being murdered.

Those two will say exactly what they are supposed to say to do their job of perception management, facts be damned.

If they were my weapons I would deny they were mine too. I wonder if the politician and police that wanted to cover up the weapons find in the vehicle will deny they wanted to cover it up now. Why not? Thida denied the UDD promoted succession even when the utube video had 3 UDD leaders on stage promoting succession. So this weapons cache will be easy peasy to deny. The UDD supporters have become so accustomed to the denying and believe the rhetoric so much that Dr Weng could deny that he is Dr Weng and state he is Big Bird and it will be believed by the supporters.

This statement from Big Bird however is straight out of the Maoist text book and was taught to him when he was a member of the Communist Party of Thailand after he spent time in Vietnam when in came under communist rule. While there him and Jaran Dittapichai, were drilled in Maoist revolutionary theory.

The eager young communist in Thailand's underground movement 20 years ago now plays a major role in the UDD and was taught that propaganda should be blunt, simple and repeated incessantly to be effective. The UDD have shunned hard policy debates in favor of simple credos of justice denied and the hypocrisy of elites. This narrative feeds into that.

A tactic he uses is to keep saying that we are a peace-loving people. The many factions folded into the UDD organization are not told what the real strategy is because they might not agree and they might not act their part convincingly.

The UDD supporters will feed upon this rhetoric like a new born baby on his mothers nipple, but rest assured Dr Weng being highly educated and thoroughly knowledgable on Maoist theory produces this narrative in line with his teachings.

This is what he was taught - Maoism uses the peasantry (rice farmers) as the key revolutionary force that will shift capitalist society towards socialism. Holding that "Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun". Maoist organizations like the UDD mainly draw upon Mao's ideology of the Peoples war, mobilizing large parts of rural populations to revolt against established institutions by engaging in guerrilla warfare. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maoism

Sounds familiar right?

Dr Weng - All I can say is you were taught well by the Vietnamese communists.
