Just another day crossing the road...
.. Yet, the most notable pedestrian crossing tragedy in recent memory was the death of a Thai doctor, which swiftly prompted a nationwide 'crackdown'. However, this heightened awareness was followed mere weeks later by the death of an elderly Thai woman, struck by a bus at a crossing. It could be argued that when it comes to self-preservation, Thai citizens appear to exercise less caution than tourists, and markedly less so than Western expatriates - certainly when looking at the behavior motorcyclist this would appear true. -

It is now election day in the U.S.A.
Among the most consequential elections not only in U.S. history -- but in world history. Fasten your seatbelts because there is a very good chance we won't know the winner of the election for days or even longer. Then comes the second phase. If Harris wins, Trump will is locked and loaded to try to overturn the results, as he tried to do last time. He's much more prepared for that now but on the other hand he's not currently in power. -

This is nothing like 2016, when Hillary was hit with the Comey letter and lost momentum. The election pros understand the dynamics of the two campaigns, but nobody knows what turnout will be like. -

Bangkok cheaper than Jomtien
Depends on where the Op is staying. The real question is, when you go out of expat areas what do you do there? You have no reason to be living there. You can get things cheaper, but if you don't fit in or have expat activities it does not work out. Most Thai's are living in those cheap areas because they are working during the day, flopping in at night, or going to school. If you're a single guy, it's not the right location. -

I made it to the USA. Now there is big rain, but once that stops, I am off to vote. And then some shopping at Walmart.
