PHUKET: Former Patong mayor Pian Keesin surrendered to the Royal Thai Navy this morning at the 3rd Fleet base in Cape Panwa.

Surrendering with him were his son Patawee, along with Shanon Fongla’ae, Setasak Buasorn, Chumpon Sae’Tan, Yodlak Geuanoon and Nattaphum Tongkao, all managers or shareholders in the Keesin family’s company, Pisona Group.

The sole wanted person who has yet to surrender is Adichart Tinkohyao from the Baansuan Taxi Queue; Preechawut “Prap” Keesin, Pian’s other son, was unable to get a flight back to the island this morning, so he turned himself in at a police station in Bangkok.

Paperwork seen by The Phuket News shows that he denied the sample charges against him of being the leader leader or operator of an illegal taxi group and assisting with an illegal transport operation without licences.

The police in Bangkok are expected to arrange for him to be sent back to Phuket under escort.

Pian and the others were brought to Phuket Town police station in an unmarked navy minibus at 11.30. When they arrived well wishers crowded around him, some weeping, offering roses and calling his name. He just smiled and said "Okay, okay."

The Phuket News has been told that they are currently being questioned by police over points raised in some of the mountains of paperwork seized by police during Thursday’s raids.

".well-wishers crowded round him, some weeping, offering roses and calling his name" - Idiots. Still trying to curry favor with this crook. Beggars belief!

Most likely paid them to weep. Just like he paid them to vote for him.

And what is this deal with surrendering to anyone but the Phuket police. Very strange indeed.

It's great that the clean up is making good progress no doubt about but why do i have the feeling not much will happen to him apart from maybe he will retire.

No, the weeping was real. Because they won't be getting paid to vote for him anymore. whistling.gif

He was an politician. Who knows, maybe he wanted to make a deal?

The deal would have already been pretty much sealed before the surrender. Who knows, that hour in the cells might have been part of it.

Very hard to believe that they will put him behind steel bars.

Agreed. None of these high profile people will spend much time (if any) behind bars. The Thai judicial system just does not work that way. Money talks and corrupt guys walk.

Because your a victim of your own propaganda--- 10 million baht houses are being burnt, plantations are being chopped down, beach front properties worth millions are being cleared, Taxi mafia leaders are in jail or being hunted, but to some people with their head placed firmly up an orifice --nothing much is happening----everyone's getting away with it.............coffee1.gif

My guess is that he knows where the skeletons are buried, and who buried them. Information that could be hazardous if he turned himself in to the custody of the perpetrators...

But that's just wild speculation.

Always18, I take it you are privy to these "volumes" but I notice you did not cite any of the contents. Us lay people may like to know what you know about what is in these "volumes".

They own the Phuket police - I'm happier that the Navy has them.

The ones obove him in the Phuket foodchain sure don't want to get public. What was Prabs job in Bangkok? Which very well connected Phuket familiy he meet this weekend also in Bangkok? Normally the deal is done already and safe.

Tattadadaa, tattadaa, tattadatattattaaa! Finally the news we have all been waiting for! :D

Keesin family trio denied bail over Phuket mafia charges

“We have denied the suspects bail for the time being, as we need more time to gather the relevant documents and put them in order. Once we have completed our investigation, we will consider allowing them out on police bail,” Region 8 Police Deputy Commander Paween Pongsirin said.

All the suspects are being held at Phuket City Police Station.

The God father of Patong has finally met his match with believable the highest authority in the land.

Hopefully this milestone restores the vital business confidence needed for Patong to move forward without these stand over merchants.

Will he squeal?

Depends who his cell-mate is.

He is currently in police detention which is usually a single communal cell at the police station. No beds, just mats on the floor, one toilet. Zero ammenities. I really cannot believe he and his entourage are in such a cell.

I agree , idiots. They are sycophants and ass kissers who don't think the current regime will prevail.

I do not believe for one second they are sleeping in gen pop in Phuket Town....unless there is photos, there is no proof. They may very well be detained, and not free to leave, but not in genpop.
