So they will make an arrest of a scapegoat who can not defend himself. We know at least 2 or 3 people were behind the murders . So lets see if the DNA match first. If they blame it on an immigrant worker this case is still wide open and not closed, even if the Royal Thai police says so.

3 days is enough time for the key players to do runners as they will have already been tipped off by the cops

You don't think that anyone that had anything to do with this has not already been ample chance to get outta there ?........ surely if guilty one cannot be that dumb to keep ignoring all these red herrings thrown up to allow time to flee.

Why are there no farang witnesses who were in AC Bar at the time ?

They got out of there when the BIB starting eyeing them up as potential culprits.

"Pol.Col Apichart Boonsriroj, Acting Commander of the Surat Thani Provincial Police said that he is giving the case top priority"

Hence the three day delay in arresting the scum responsible.

The headline is incorrect, it should in fact read:

Arrest warrant for Koh Tao murder suspect to be Issued after cheque clears

Would that be a cheque for 1 million baht?

Posted

Misleading title and actual content:

'Arrest Warrant for Koh Tao Murder Suspect to be Issued in Three Days'

'The police are confident that a warrant can be issued within 2-3 days'

Lets see, and hope something positive occurs.

What do you think. I think finally they have a scape goat.

I would think the families of the victims should stop in and ask the British authority to do a independent investigation to ensure the real corporates are cut and not and give appropriate penalties (death sentence)

If they had the evidence they needed they could just issue it now. This says to me that in three days it will be blamed on someone if they can't or won't solve it.

This whole case is like reading an Agatha Christie novel with the last page torn out. Remember if the guilty get away with it then its up to a private inquiry that shall by swift and silent.

They intend to issue an arrest warrant. Now they just need to find a name to put on it! Case is now officially 86% solved.

Seriously though, here's hoping that they do have a solid case. At the end of the day, we all want this/these murderous nutcases removed from society as soon as possible and for the families of David and Hannah to get some form of closure. For those of us who have constantly questioned evidence, we must continue to do so. Nobody wants an innocent person taking the fall.

If cash has been paid they might think noooooooo problem eh..

Here we go again more Thai verbal diarehha coming from the incompetent police. "Police have interrogated 10 witnesses" don't they mean they beat the shit out of 10 people who have no knowledge of the crime.

I heard that FBI and Scotland Yard were doing their own investigations undercover and know exactly what the Thai Police are doing. Charge the wrong people for this and the entire Thai Police force will have to be sacked in front of the world....now that's a BIG loss of face.....karma. I was going to mention this earlier on in the investigation but decided to let them run with this entire disgusting excuse of an investigation.

Also, I'd imagine that human right groups will be called in to save the poor sucker fitted up for this.

All the Thais i know are very angry and sickened by this horrific event and want justice for Hannah & David. Facebook especially on CSI LA's page is full of comments demanding that the student suspect and influencial people (suspects) in Koh Tao be dna tested properly. If you're innocent why hide? Initially my knee jerk reaction was anger at all Thais and that was wrong of me because the murderer and anyone covering up for them are $#@# sick #$@# and are shaming the otherwise good people of this country. This leads me to believe that that good will prevail and the real murderers will be caught in the end.

The police have interrogated...

This news report just come in from the Daily M.

Quote

"Thai police investigating the murder of two British backpackers tried to bribe a taxi driver to give false evidence against a football team then beat him up when he refused, it was claimed today.

Pornprasit Sukdam claims he was offered 700,000 baht (£13,300) if he agreed to be a fake witness to events leading up to the deaths of David Miller and Hannah Witheridge in Koh Tao.

But when he turned down the offer, he claims the officers became angry and attacked him before releasing him on Monday evening".

A Sickening read! He is one of the alleged players from the football team.

Sick indeed. It is better to (deliberately) not catch anyone than to knowingly catch the wrong person. Firstly, an innocent person would be made to suffer and secondly, the real killer would still be at large. I hope that the cops who did this will be punished.

This also shows what we can expect from this investigation: nothing even approaching a real intention to honestly solve the crime.

And they said no scapegoat. ...

No offence mate but do you really believe that?

And the entire Thai police force sacked in front of the world??

Im hoping yours is a piss take post and that you dont actually believe what you have posted.

No it's not a piss take post, some of us hope for once folk with cash get sent down if they committed the crime.

Here we go again... "We now (read: again) know who did it. We have the evidence, BUT lets tell the media all about it first and wait 3 days to arrest our suspect"

If I did not feel terrible sorry for the victims friends and family, I would be laughing right now. This is not only sad - it is a complete and never ending joke!

Well if there is someone who refuses to give dna, the only way to legally obtain it is having a witness ,which would enable them to issue an arrest warrant, which would give power to legally take dna from suspect. Even if witness recants, the dna evidence is still usable. Hence the desperation for a witness ,or someone to identify video footage as a couple of suspects have refused to give dna. So i say the police have gotta do what they gotta do to get this case solved. Anyone who knows even a little bit and keeps quiet, deserves a few slaps to get the choppers moving.

"police now have enough information to issue an arrest warrant for the suspect in the case"

Then why wait three days to issue the arrest warrant?

A case that has global exposure, I case that has ramifications on tourist arrivals and they will sit in this for three days first. Why?

And people wonder why tourist numbers will drop 20% this year!

This is a complete farce. The Junta can hold people without warrant for three days so it beggars belief that they cannot hold the murderers for three days until the warrant is issued.
