Prayut blows his top when asked about father's land sale
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha Tuesday apparently blew his top when reporters asked him about the Bt600-million land sale by his father.

While holding a press conference following the weekly Cabinet, Prayut was shot with the question, prompting him to reply that it was none of the reporter's business.

When another reporter asked him while a firm that was just formed seven days bought the land, Prayut replied that it was personal matter of his family and he had his rights to privacy.

Prayut reported in his assets declaration that a part of his assets came from proceed from of a land sale by his father for Bt600 million that was shared among his siblings.

"I have rights to my privacy. It's not true that you can do anything against me just because I am the prime minister. I am also a citizens with rights to defend my privacy, OK?" Prayut said.

Well no it is not.

He declared the asset!

" Prayut reported in his assets declaration that a part of his assets came from proceed from of a land sale by his father for Bt600 million that was shared among his siblings."

What has his father's business got to do with him, an asset was gained and reported!

What about Taxin and Ying have no privacy rights ?

Sounds like tip of an iceberg for the new government.

Does this news not make it to the Thai-speaking audience?

I honestly don't understand how Thai citizens can see the same news I see and sit idly by.

Any Minister has the right to privacy. But when it comes to such a large sale in the nearest family, it is fair game for the journalists questions. I still think it is better to have a Premier with some passion, instead of a puppet that only reads a script, and doesn't answer any further questions.

As a prime minister it does matter what your family is doing. Wasn't this not the biggest reason why YL was overthrown for. (Because of her brother)..

Anyway it sounds quite strange..and this all after the inheritance tax tax is on the way. And a company which has been formed and immediately took over the land.

Yes they do .. but do you also notice WHO goes to the press at the drop of a hat. Taxin and a lesser extent Ying. Thaksin especially likes to keep his name in the press!

Benevolent Leaders who take over the country at gunpoint and control the government are entitled to their own secret family business transactions. ok?

Whilst you are a leader of a country you are in the public arena , therefore you answer anything that is raised on or about your private life, the PM has no right to chastise the reporters and should have answered a normal request civilly , quite frankly if Prayuth can't stand the heat in the kitchen he should get out, unfortunately Generals are not used to subordinates asking personal questions, that's why they make bad leaders of countries. coffee1.gif

This may be some turning point. Sounds like the the the public wont be scared hushed and humiliated into silence with a pat on the head by the untouchables.

Bravo to the reporter that had the nervres to ask the question!

Hope he/her is ok and not soon going for holiday to koh tao

It is a valid question as no one knows unless he explains what the real value of the land was. And if 600000 is the price on the land documents. Personally I think it is a genuine transaction but you have to be open about it if you are PM.

Oh, that only applies if you're not in the military. Army generals don't need to follow laws

Questions asked-- no problem if they are legit, But who reported that he Quote " blew his top " ??? who decided to put this into a topic this way ??

inviting anger, and TVF are wanting to conform to no harsh criticism----- then blasts this heading here. This week there have been more and more invitation to the PM haters, but yet feed them fodder for replies.

Headlines need to be scaled down and fair. so as everyone no matter what opinion can comment without inflated topic headings.

Yes, after further research of the topic it seems that this issue is being used to tarnish the image of the new pm and most of the tarnishing is in anti coup media sites. Just goes to show that the divide in politics is still simmering and the need for reform is paramount to healing old wounds.

What does 600 million get you in bangkok land wise?

It's called "clickbait" and "ad revenue".

Actually it is called posting the original article.

Being as his job is to end democracy in Thailand and revert back to the good old days where the Yellow shirts and the old ruling elite get all the spoils then of course he shouldn't have to answer any questions about what could be shady looking deals involving millions of $$$.

This is the man who has made sure his backers family in Koh Tao get off scot-free for murdering 2 people

awwww it`s no fun when it`s not like it used to be, when everyone was too scared to speak out laugh.png Cheering team yellow is only fun when people don`t bite back I guess wink.png Just blame Thaksin, isn`t that the usual trick?

I think everyone can see the tide is changing, bit by bit people are speaking out against this charade. 2015 is going to be a huge year in the Kingdom

I think its pretty obvious he blew his top!

Well he would do wouldn't he ? This look at the facts. Thaksin Shinwatra in 2006 met his demise because he escaped significant amounts of tax because the Shin corp shares were transferred via the British Virgin Islands account. Something the Elite have been doing in this country since 1923 with the support of Siam Commercial Bank. Unfortunately TS made it known publicy.

Cries of derision was heard by all.

Fast forward 8 years and the good general and his Father have been found out to have been doing exactly the same thing with the land sale that they put into a company name only 13 days earlier prior to the sale. Guess why he wanted the coup in 2014 ? Was it to return happiness to the Thai people, what ever that means, or was it so he can benefit from it ? What do you think ?

Anti-coup media?
Which Thailand are you referring to?
I live in the one where 99% of people rolled over and allowed themselves to be emasculated by a scheming army officer that failed to contain the south and decided to throw himself a coup to celebrate. Media are stepping over themselves to kiss ass on a daily basis.

I swear. If I had known there would be absolutely no resistance whatsoever I would have thrown a coup my damn self.

Did not the police chief register shares on the set for around 6 million?

Just a few weeks ago?

Seems like these must be lucky numbers, with 6 and many zeros

must tell my ex thai GF to go buy lottery and use those numbers

like many others, she works 60+ hours a week for little over 10k a month

she will very much appreciate to have a share in these lucky numbers
