January 16, 201511 yr 'Killing of school director may have been personal'The Nation Police said yesterday they have a potential lead about who may have killed a school director in Hat Yai in Songkhla province and now believe that the motive may have been a personal conflict.Songkhla police chief Maj-General Ampol Buarapporn called a meeting with investigators yesterday to discuss possible motives behind the murder of Doungkhae Khunthongphetch, director of Wiriya Thian Witthaya School. The 51-year-old was killed at her home in tambon Kuan Lang on Thursday.Ampol said inquiries had provided some clarity and police believed it was more the result of a personal conflict.Hence, he said the suspect was likely to be a person close to the victim and could freely go in and out of the house, as the crime scene showed no signs of breaking and entering.He said police now had two people of interest, who will soon be summoned to determine their role in the murder.But police have not totally ruled out other motives such as robbery, so workers at a nearby construction site have also been interrogated and DNA samples collected from them.
