thaibeachlovers Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 According to one of the public holiday sites I looked at, May 13 is Royal Ploughing day and a public holiday. Is it an immigration office holiday in Chiang Mai or not? None of the other sites I looked at gave May 13 as a public holiday. Thanks.

thaibeachlovers Posted February 2, 2015 Author Posted February 2, 2015 Hmmmmm. According to that calendar the 13th IS a public holiday, but trying to book a visa extension in the Chiang Mai on line system I see that all the slots have been reserved on the 13th. So either the 13th isn't a holiday in Chiang Mai, or a lot of people are going to be missing out.
Don Mega Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Maybe all the slots on the 13th are "reserved" as it is a holiday and they do not want people to book a time on that day. Check another date that is a known public holiday (lets say December 5th) and see if it is the same.

CMBob Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I had the same issue last year, having reserved a slot on May 1st not realizing at the time that May 1st was a public holiday (Labor Day); however, the Immigration Office was open that day and there turned out to be no problem. Edit: Just checked May 5th and the site clearly says it is closed that day due to a public holiday....so my guess is they'll be open any day that allow slots to be reserved.

The notification that the office is closed for holiday is new. Used to be that you could book on a public holiday.
