It seems that suspects are considered guilty until proven innocent. Direct evidence of involvement by any person has not been established but by these announcements, people are led to believe that it is a done deal. I believe normal procedure in the rest of the world is for the police to

quietly investigate an incident, determine who the culprit is, arrest

them, then hold a press conference saying why they arrested that

person. Here in amazing Thailand, the press conferences are like

something out of a dark comedy, with their function being to warn whoever

committed the criminal act so they can do a runner. I always liked the

classic move where the police instead of actually using the name of

the suspected person , use the first letter of the name of the suspect.

Am pretty sure this whole thing will do the classic Thai fadeaway,

but if events move forward, and the guy does a runner, the police will

have some serious egg on their face . However they have had so

much egg on their face over the years, it probably does not matter to

them anymore. After all , in Thailand there is no yesterday, and no
