David (aka Dave2) will be missed very much. Such a modest, goodhearted guy. Always caring for the cats in the neigbourhood. RIP.

  • I would like to add Northern John to this thread, so he can be remembered. Early on we used to have a go at each other, but after we started sending each other personal messages, the tide turned and

RIP ,Used see him many times when i would go for a quiet afternoon drink at the SM Salon next to the UN irish .That was 2018 to early 2019 ,They had happy hour Big Chang B75 .He used zip about on an old Honda wave .He looked early 60s .Kind of young to die .Sounds like it was a quick death ,which is how i would like to go .

I met Ron in 2002 at the CMS and he was in his 60's then I would have thought.

He aged well.

With all the ways to go in Thailand a freak accident takes a long term resident.

RIP Ron

Used to talk quite frequently with John (Shedrick).  I know he was in the hospital for a while and he said that his cancer had spread.  Didn't sound good and then he was gone  RIP friend John.

behind my back. He says what do you expect? You're in a wheel chair.

Marc from MM Bar in LK passed.  A good host.  RIP.

Nat Hix passed away last December.

Nat was a true gentleman, a former FBI employee, a cigar aficionado, and was involved in some regard with the CM Gate Theater group (kinda fuzzy on that one.)  One of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet with a terrific sense of humor, so sorry to see him leave us.

One of the unfortunate aspects of getting older and is that we tend to leave more and more friends and dear ones in the rear view. I remember talking to my grandmother when she was 98, and she said with the exception of you guys every single person I've ever known in this lifetime is gone.

I just remembered my old mate Max nee Coel died 11 years ago yesterday of cancer. Max was from the Uk and ran the Black Cat on Johns cnr then the Moon Garden till finally the Mood River GH/Bar. One of the best soclalizing characters & a nice guy. He had many road bikes & could drink without ever losing his cool or getting mal..... & had a good following. Great party days back then---boy I miss those old days from 98 onwards Max........ RIP Buddy

A truly remarkable and very distinguished character who went by the name of "Tiger" (surname Fleming, I think) died at the age of 99 sometime in the latter months of 2022. He had been a CM resident (City View Tower Condo) for many, many years but I have not been able to find any info about him or his obituary anywhere. He was British. Curious to know if anyone knew him...

Something Blinky Bill said triggered a thought in my mind about all the drinking mates that I have known and remember since being in Chiang Mai, specifically those who have passed on

I would like to start a list of those I remember here in Chiang Mai and would like all other local members to chip in and add the names they remember. Just add them onto the list and in this way maybe all of us together or by ourselves can have a drink and say salute, salude, old buddy, I remember and miss you.

Here is the start of the list I would like to remember, add to it if you like and see how many we can remember.

Salute Good Buddies :o

Skipper

Andy the Scot

J. B. Gross

Jeremy

Roger Morton

Allister the Scot

Jack Wall

Rick Cherry [ Dr. Lic ]
