I met Ron in 2002 at the CMS and he was in his 60's then I would have thought. He aged well. With all the ways to go in Thailand a freak accident takes a long term resident. RIP Ron 1
ThePunPun Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Used to talk quite frequently with John (Shedrick). I know he was in the hospital for a while and he said that his cancer had spread. Didn't sound good and then he was gone RIP friend John. Gonzo A wife says to her husband you're always pushing me around and talking behind my back. He says what do you expect? You're in a wheel chair.
elektrified Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 I just heard that Ron Parker passed this month. He lived here for many years. We were friends years back.

TheAppletons Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Nat Hix passed away last December. Nat was a true gentleman, a former FBI employee, a cigar aficionado, and was involved in some regard with the CM Gate Theater group (kinda fuzzy on that one.) One of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet with a terrific sense of humor, so sorry to see him leave us. 1

T_Dog Posted June 21, 2023 Posted June 21, 2023 Sad to report that long-time CM resident Stan Whittaker passed away on 13 June. Many of our lives were graced by Stan's presence. Just a great guy..... https://www.joincake.com/memorial-pages/stan-witaker/#obituary
spidermike007 Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 One of the unfortunate aspects of getting older and is that we tend to leave more and more friends and dear ones in the rear view. I remember talking to my grandmother when she was 98, and she said with the exception of you guys every single person I've ever known in this lifetime is gone. 1 1
Popular Post Bee991 Posted November 11, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 11, 2023 I just remembered my old mate Max nee Coel died 11 years ago yesterday of cancer. Max was from the Uk and ran the Black Cat on Johns cnr then the Moon Garden till finally the Mood River GH/Bar. One of the best soclalizing characters & a nice guy. He had many road bikes & could drink without ever losing his cool or getting mal..... & had a good following. Great party days back then---boy I miss those old days from 98 onwards Max........ RIP Buddy 3
Virtualrecluse Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 A truly remarkable and very distinguished character who went by the name of "Tiger" (surname Fleming, I think) died at the age of 99 sometime in the latter months of 2022. He had been a CM resident (City View Tower Condo) for many, many years but I have not been able to find any info about him or his obituary anywhere. He was British. Curious to know if anyone knew him... 1
CrossBones Posted April 21, 2024 Posted April 21, 2024 Moral of the story is dont move to chiang mai and become an alcoholic 4

Just add them onto the list and in this way maybe all of us together or by ourselves can have a drink and say salute, salude, old buddy, I remember and miss you. Here is the start of the list I would like to remember, add to it if you like and see how many we can remember. Salute Good Buddies Skipper Andy the Scot J. B. Gross Jeremy Roger Morton Allister the Scot Jack Wall Rick Cherry [ Dr. Lic ] Crickett ........ way before her time add on guys and gals Two good ex-friends of mine "Sausage Bob" (British Legion in Chiang Mai) Chuck Pringle.
