I am not usre if Im correct due to language, but I think the King has just taken back control of the government.. It was just on channel 3. I could be mistaken as it was a little hard to understand. Any news from our Thai members?

Thai King is reportedly 'very disillusioned' with Thaksin, reports BBC World

where are all the moron expats that are usually on the forum with there THE RULES ARE THE RULES. is this what the rules are?

I'm in California, and this site has been "timed out" for about 20 minutes.

Can't imagine why with the cell phones out and the TV stations out, that there is still Internet.

So keep posting as long as possible.

Thanks and be safe out there!

The toxin man! The toxin man! Whos afraid of the toxin man!!

Yayy! If there was any way to bring down the toxin man then it had to be the good old thai army!

Elections would just not cut it with him in charge!

Well Done Boys!

Exiting times ahead!

Watch out for Thai internet failure any minute. Many Thai web sites down and this one was as well. Whether is is by design or just overloaded is the question

It's under martial law, but there is talk of a counter coup. Nobody knows what is happening.

Unfortunately Thaskin has many supporters and military isnt the way to take a political opponent out, elections are. This is very bad. Hopefully this won't end up like Pakistan/Burma and Thaskin sorts this out when he arrives back.

I agree. too early to say that Thaksin is out... unfortunatly.

Cnn Reports:

Thailand's opposition Party of Democratic Reform issued a statement on Thai television saying it is behind the coup attempt in Bangkok and has the loyalty of Thailand's armed forces.

This sucks guys, really sucks. Think about turism season tis year. I wonder if anybody will come to visit Thailand this year.

Thaksin dismissed coup as temporary and government will gain control in due time.

I hate to see the Thai baht in a few days, any currency traders out there short/long at the moment?

Can someone confirm if the sacked officer is going against other branches of the thai military, or if the other branchs are all acting in unison?

There is a lot of airtraffic noise - no idea what type of aircraft, but it is unusual for where I live (Lamlukka, 35km north east of city center).

Guess were in for a roller coaster few days....

LOS needs a new meaning

any ideas?

Only those who have an understanding of 72, 75 and 91 should bother posting. It's a precarious situation. Thousands of decent normal thais paid with teir lives last time this occurred.

Thaksin just announced he will not be coming back on Thursday as planned.
