Chiangmai Imigration office

Featured Replies

I've someone who need a visa exempt extension. Anyone know what to bring to get the extension?

We are in Chiangmai close to Maya mall on Nimmanhaenin Rd. I heard the immigration office moved inside a mall that's far away from us. It's quite expensive to take taxi there.

Does anyone know the free shuttle schedule and if there are any stop within 20 minutes of Maya mall?

Here is the schedule of free shuttle buses to Prom. Mall. The closest location to Maya Mall is the Amora Hotel, just outside the east side of the Old City. You'll you'll be able to get a 20 baht songthaew to take you from the Maya Mall area to the Amora Hotel.

Fortunately, for a tourist extension you can arrive in the every early afternoon and (usually) still get a queue card for the day. No so for retirement extensions. You have to arrive at opening to get one of the day's queue cards for retirement extensions.

For the retirement visa application applicants should arrive early in the morning as the Immigration office suggest and should be around 6 AM because the immigration office in C.M. only accepts 20 applicants which get their queue card at about 8.30 AM.

They accept the new application 45 days prior to the end of the Visa and also up to the last day.

Of the 20 applicants they accept 10 applicants up to lunch time, and the last 10 applicants start after 1. P.M. all applicants have to wait several hours to receive their completed passport with the new Visa application.

The 90 days applications are not a big problem, the daily arrival can take any time, and then wait a little to get it done, the application can take place 15 days before or 7 days after the 90 days ending.
