This looks to be heading back to the Pub.

Before we reach that fork in the road, there is always the possibility of redemption.

Any chance of a signpost (where we went wrong) as a warning marker?

Note to self, no more zoo references, treat this like it's a carnival.

Or another forum.........facepalm.gif

Why not? Half the votes are probably coming from another forum anyway.

I'm surprised at Nancy's ability to use all that technical stuff I won't/can't talk about here.

She's a secret IPhone specialist...probably has three of them and a cheap throwaway for chatting with the maid.

Try to make it a skosh less bawdy. At least that's what they are saying in Milwaukee.

Or maybe more than a skosh. Is that a skoosh? Uh oh. That word sounds suggestive. Hard to win!

I'm sure if my hordes of Apple-loving fans were able to vote, I'd be in the lead by now.

Aren't you canvassing in that forum?

I'm sure they have their own here somewhere...there's even one for teddy bear lovers and those who don't believe in Santa Claus.

Shocking I know.

I have to admit, Jingthing has done a marvelous job of comparing this thread and holding it together. I was initially very concerned about the rules, changes, and bum references.

Well done Jingthing!

Wearing the Captain's jacket comes with responsibility. Sure, you can engage in some banter with the crew and passengers along the way, but the Captain always has to be mindful of the true course of the ship and getting safely to its final destination.

For sure, Seaman Stains, Roger the cabin boy and Master Bates can verify your advice...thumbsup.gif

Ouch. Or should I say AHHH. Dude, you're treading on thin ice with all those yachting references. I don't know a boat from a beer coaster.

Just remember - you don't want a sudden late surge in the boat race. But you won't win if you don't sail close to the wind

Speaking of the Milwaukee Committee, they are SPANKIN' mad (in the not fun way) about the current schedule to have the GRAND FINALE end on New Year's Eve. They say the "good" people of Thailand deserve to have their New Year's Eve parties in peace and quiet (knitting doilies in the shape of durians or whatever it is y'all do) without being subjected to the noise and HYPER excitement of a Thaivisa Poster of the Year GRAND FINALE.

So getting this STINK BOMBSHELL out now, and the squawking about it over and done with ASAP ... I've got to kowtow to my betters in Milwaukee and thus the schedule will be "OFFICIALLY" adjusted for the GRAND FINALE to end one day earlier than New Year's Eve.

Thus the new ending time for the GRAND FINALE is Wednesday 30 DECEMBER, 2015 at MIDNIGHT.

The ending time for this CURRENT

Poster of the Year 2015 Sizzlin' Hit SEMIFINAL round

remains the same at:

Thursday 24 December at Midnight

I reckon close early, in case anyone tries to pull out at the last minute. The Pope would want it that way.

'10 Questions for the Top 5'

In ANTICIPATION of the upcoming GRAND FINALE with the TOP 5 Poster of the Year hopefuls, I am developing a list of 10 questions ('Ten Questions for the Top 5') that all of the TOP 5 will be strongly encouraged to respond to.

I would like to open this up to sincere SUGGESTIONS. They can of course be funny questions, but nothing about politics, religion, or the member's sexual practices is going to be on the list, so PLEASE don't even bother suggesting them.

Thinking more on the lines of related to their experiences on the forum, to Thailand, to the expat experience. That kind of thing, more or less. Silly is fine, but not all of them will be silly.

I will gather all of the suggestions, if any, and then decide on the final list: ''Ten Questions for the Top 5'

Some ideas I have to get this started as a way to provide examples of the sort of questions I think would be both fun and informative:

-- What are your five favorite Thai dishes, if you eat Thai food, and if you don't eat Thai food, why not?

-- Can you please provide links to a few threads that you started that you feel best represent the style of your participation at Thaivisa.com forum?

-- What other Thaivisa member (not a mod) do you most admire on the forum, and why?

-- Do the sum of your posts at Thaivisa pass the smell test?

-- In your opinion, why does Thailand have so many ladyboys?

-- Thai immigration -- what are your favorite things about Thai immigration and what would you suggest to make it better?

-- If you had to live in another country than Thailand, but not your home country, which country would that be? (Regardless of visa and financial limitations.)

That's a start.

Please make many suggestions and then a robust question list represent the diversity here will happen.

The above are not final questions, only a way to get this started.

Do better and get your questions will be on the list!

Exciting? Don't answer that.

Thank you for your participation in 'Ten Questions for the Top 5'

Ridiculous!

Can you make that in the form of a question? coffee1.gif

No, I get you don't like this idea.

That's fine.

If I don't get any positive feedback in the form of question suggestions, I may drop it.

I have decided this "TRIAL BALLOON" to attempt to gather this question list really should be delegated to a SEPARATE thread. So if you want to participate in suggesting questions, please do not respond here, but rather go to THIS THREAD instead:

What if the poster doesn't want to answer any of these silly questions?

Will more rules be made up as we go along?

Optional, of course. But you knew that already so I question your motive for asking.

If it's optional, what's the point what has it got to do with POTY

It's not the Miss Universe contest.

I've got that covered. You know, you can buy fabric with sequins already sewn onto it at Chiang Mai Warorot Market. I imagine other Thai towns have similar fabric shops. Just ask Jingthing.

You forgot one of the standard beauty pageant questions -- "What do you want most for the future" My answer, carefully coached, of course, is: "Whirled peas"
