Not unless you want to ... you can also pay your annual 'road tax' anywhere you want ...you don't have to go back to BK to do it

is it already transfered in your name? if not, and you want it in your name (assumming your address is in Chonburi), you may have to get Chonburi plates.

i was told recently that foreigners cannot transfer Bkk plated vehicles if they live outside of Bkk, but Thais can. Not sure if absolutely true, but you'd probably have to take the vehicle to Bkk to do the transfer anyway.

You don't have to change them but if you want to go to nearest DLT office they can change them but the forms are in Thai so my Mrs sorted it for me.

So you're in Bangkok now and changing names..did they require a certificate of residence ?

or did you use the work permit or yellow book method.

If they let you change the name there is no requirement for you to change number plates  you can keep BKK plates

pay tax and insurance in any province.

Just a question about relocating to Chiang Mai from Chonburi. Does this mean I can keep the chonburi plates ? Or will I get in trouble when paying the taxes in CM ? I am the owner of the car. Thanks.
