managerial hits and miss's this season

No surprise to me giggs aint got a job, utd ex ast managers dont always necesssarily jump over well to the managers job plus i would imagine hes high cost, certainly high risk and my gut feeling tells he'd want a REAL bundle to spend. so for me in most jobs there will be better options for chairman.

in fairness 14 in 27 games is pretty  impressive  even more so in a struggling team.

Does Rafa's family still live in the Wirral? Would he be a candidate for (duck for cover)..........Everton?

I more or less agree with you, Intensified, but I think he has to lessen his expectations for the time being. He has to prove himself outside the Old Trafford bubble.  My guess is that he won't.

Is it his expectations or media speculation?

Three of the English "elder statesmen" have all ended up in jobs at Championship clubs with varying degrees of potential within a few days: Bruce, McClaren & Warnock. Have younger British managers got a sniff of the better jobs? I'm thinking of the likes of Nathan Jones at Luton, Lee Johnson at Bristol City, Jim Bentley at Morecambe, David Flitcroft at Bury, plus many others.

Walter Zenga has been sacked by Wolverhampton Wanderers, the English club has confirmed.

The former goalkeeper has endured a turbulent past few years, having been sacked by Palermo after 13 games, Al-Nassr after 16, Al-Shaab after 10 and Sampdoria after 14.

“Wolves have announced that Walter Zenga’s contract has been terminated with immediate effect,” a statement confirmed.

Wigan Athletic have sacked manager Gary Caldwell after 18 months in charge of the Championship club.Former Latics and Scotland defender Caldwell was appointed boss in April 2015 and led them to the League One title last season. But they are 23rd in the table after 14 matches this term and have failed to win in their past four games.

Tony Pulis has signed a contract extension.Pulis will stay at The Hawthorns until the summer of 2018 after agreeing the one-year extension.

Ryan Giggs for Wigan? Warren Joyce from rags academy had an interview this week. Caldwell very hard done to; looks like Old Dave still has his finger on the trigger.

I think Mourinho is the biggest hit by far this season. He has exceeded all of my expectations. Jose at Man U forever!!

Big Sam to replace Moyes at Sunderland within the next few weeks......it's a no brainer...Moyes has lost the plot and Big Sam will pull them out of the shit again...or maybe it's already to late !!!

Joyce appointed...hope he does not get anything out of his first game...at home to Reading

Lambert into Wolves.

Hassellbaink out at QPR.

Queens Park Rangers have reappointed Ian Holloway as manager, 10 years after he left the Championship club. The 53-year-old, previously in charge of the R's between 2001 to 2006, has agreed a two-and-a-half-year contract at Loftus Road.

Charlton Athletic have sacked manager Russell Slade after less than six months in charge.

The Addicks were beaten 3-0 at Swindon on Saturday and currently sit 15th in the League One table.

A club statement read: "The club has reluctantly made this decision after results this season, which have left the team occupying 15th place. The club wants to give itself the best possible opportunity of achieving its number one priority - winning promotion to the Sky Bet Championship at the earliest opportunity.

"The club would like to thank Russell for his tireless work during his time at The Valley, particularly the processes and disciplines he has instilled at the training ground, and wishes him well for the future."

Bury manager David Flitcroft has left the League One club after 11 games without a win in all competitions. The 42-year-old had been in charge at Gigg Lane for almost three years and led the Shakers to promotion from League Two in 2015.

The managerial hit this season has to be Antonio Conte. Unlike other incumbents, who have waltzed into their jobs, he's had to juggle his appointment with managing  Italy in the Euros. That has left him no time at all to sort the squad out. So far, he's done an impeccable job.

Tough to argue that OG though Klopp would get some votes as well.

So apart from the four that he bought and the 26 that came back from loan, he's really had a thin squad to play with eh?

Who said anything about him having a thin squad? The point was he had over 50 players to pick squad from in less than 4 weeks. Even Mou had picked his buys before he stepped in at Ot  and Pepe already new who he wanted...or no longer wanted. Pretty bloody remarmarkable what he has has achieved in such a short space of time.....but you take the piss or try and score a cheap point or make a smart -arse remark...i would expect nothing less.✌

The only thing I would argue is already had a title winning squad that didn't need much tinkering with just a bit motivation and confidence. You can see that by recent performances post Liverpool and Arsenal matches. Glad we played you when we did now.

Oh yes it must be sooooo difficult arriving at a club that are already rich with talent and then find you've got 30 more to choose from.

Only the Spurs fans will crying over that one.

Why would Spurs be bothered if the USA give him the boot ?  your brain seems to be working in even more mysterious ways lately !

Sugar will be laughing. He'll probably get one of his minions to wash his car with Carlos Kickaball's shirt.

Leyton Orient have sacked yet another manager - that's 2 already this season. What on earth was Barry Hearn doing when he sold the club to this bunch of clowns?

Kenny Jackett has left his job as manager of the Championship's bottom club Rotherham United after just five games and 39 days in charge.
