Paint or vinyl wrap for Honda Forza?

Featured Replies

Hey, folks!

I'd like to change the color of my black Honda Forza. I was originally thinking new paint job, so went to Nat Motor where I bought it here in Chiang Mai.

They quoted me 7000 baht for new paint job of any color. Definitely cheap by Western standards! But I have nothing to compare that to in Thailand.

I would actually prefer to go with a body shop or a customs shop that could do metallic paints and other cool stuff. Any idea where to start w this?

Some people are suggesting that I vinyl wrap the bike instead of painting. Less permanent, easier, maybe cheaper? Not sure what other arguments exist for vinyl vs paint?

Any any ideas, considerations or suggestions here with all this? I'm basically clueless in the sense that I've never had a car or bike painted (or vinyl wrapped) before.

7K for a colour change paint job is way too cheap, sounds like it will be a nasty closed door job.

after you change colour either paint or wrap dont forget to update your bluebook.

I think you'll have more options with paint if you want fancy custom graphics.
Which ever way you go you are supposed to inform the DLT of change of colours and update that in the green book or you can end up contributing to the policeman s retirement fund.

Thanks for the replies, guys! Thats good info re: DLT, didn't know that! I will be sure to update them once it's changed.

I DID think 7000B sounded pretty cheap! But figured the Honda dealer would do a decent job... but they are not a body shop! Probably better to seek someone out who is a pro at painting bikes and cars vs the dealer.

Any ideas or recommendations as to where to start re: body shops / proper paint job?

That price sounds about right to me. I had a bike sprayed about 6 years ago (special paint) for about 3000 but I did dismantle all the parts myself.
I wouldn't worry too much about it not being a special paint sprayers as (I'm sure) that is where it will actually be done and shop will add on their %.

That's what my first sentence said. Maybe it might be done to regional variations????

For 7k its will done with a can of TOA enamel and a paint brush.

7000 to spray a motorcycle sounds about right.

Quotes to respray my car its original color run from 20,000 baht to 35,000 baht.

i was quoted for my Forza in Pattaya 8k for respray in original white and 9k for white pearl

Ahh crap, I apologise to all. I  thought the OP was talking about a car, not a scooter.

I was quoted last week to strip my black pcx respray candy red and reassemble 5000 baht, have seen the quality of work and was excellent

There is an american paintshop owner in Phuket who does a sort of wrapping on pcx, forzas. Fantastic colours.. Have a look on pcx.org forum for details. Post and return service too.

In my opinion, vinyl wrap is much more practical and gives awesome look to your ride. My vinyl wrap project was installed by Gatorwraps and I am very satisfied!. Professionals there will be able to address all your concerns. You might also want to check out Gatorprints

And gatorwraps have a store in Thailand ?
