Bank letter from Bangkok Bank day before applying in Pattaya

Featured Replies

Hope the question is self-explanatory but if bank letter is from Bank in Bangkok day before extension application in Pattaya would they accept it?

Otherwise how to do, factoring in the run up to Bangkok and back?

Also if funds are in Euros or USD would they accept or would they have to be in THB

Thanks!

From my experience when I have done my "Extension to Stay" information from the "Government Call Centre" Tel. No. 1111 and information from my wife who has been a SCB Manager for the past 15 years; the "Bank Letter" is required to be dated on the day of application also with a transaction showing on the account this day to show the account is up to date; funds to be held and available in THB.

Can't you get a "Bank Letter" from a branch of your Thai bank in Pattaya on the day of application ?

At Jomtien, a letter the day before will definitely be accepted. I've been doing it that way for several years. A Friday before Monday also OK and probably even longer than a day old would usually be OK.

The way I do it that always works.

Before entering bank, make a small withdrawal.

Have the clerk update the passbook before the letter.

They would generally do that anyway without even having to ask.

The balance on the letter should match the balance in the passbook exactly.

Sorted.

I have no information on your currency other than BAHT question.

He's asking about JOMTIEN office specifically. Different offices, different enforcement details. It's irrelevant whether he can practically get a same day letter because -- he doesn't NEED to.

And of course you have a stamped tm30 in your passport...

No TM.30 is ever stamped into a passport.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

I had a Notification of Receipt of Address stapled into my passport after filing a TM30 in Phuket.

Mine, too in CM....and they even said it was "very important" when I did my extension....and I think you are supposed to have the stamped bottom of the form with you.  I've mentioned it to a few old timers here in CM, and they basically told me they hadn't heard of it, and of course they knew everything, so I was out of my mind.  Maybe the coin will drop, after they get there at 3 or 4am for an extension and don't even get a number at 8:50, because they don't have it.

So bank letter can be accepted a day later, cool. What did TM30 have to do with this, stamped or stapled in passport, no wonder folk are binning tvf, too much false news lately.

I too reported to Jomtien and had the bank letter dated the day before applying for an extension of stay. Also had a withdrawal posted to the bank bank, just prior (10 min.) to asking for the letter.
