Many people saying on here to wait until 1 day after your birthday to renew ( to get 6 years ) but what if there is 6 months between your license expiry and your birthday ??

As in my case.

What happens if you are stopped with an expired license ??

A fine I guess ??

Is the expiry date on your license not your birthday...?

  • In stead of the workpermit also residence certificate or yellow housebook are accepted.

  • Yes that is the norm when you go to some "goverment office" You find that strange?? That might explain the overprice they took for your licences....

  • Tough if you are retired then and only have the 2 year licence ...

No, expiry date end of Jan and b-day end of June.
But it’s a two year license.
Fink the b-day/expiry thingy only applies for the 5 year.

Could be...I can't remember about the 2 year one, but my license goes from birth date to birth date.

Pretty sure it’s only 5 year License.

For confirmation we should ask your buddy Fred , he seems to be knowledgeable [emoji51]

Am I understanding this correct?

Someone renewing a 2 year  DL  on a  "retirement" O-A  visa (not an extension)...... will only get 2 more years,  NOT  5 years ?

I used Bang Chak DLT for the 2 year and it's due in Dec

Long term visa or extension such as OA retirement will get a 5 year licence..after the first 2 year temporary one.

No ...you need to read #8 ... my flippant comment #7 was a reply to the previous statement....which I knew to be incorrect

You will get a 5 year on any long stay (one year)Visa..

Have been using my work permit for years to renew as always had proof of home address in the back. Until now it seems.

Just changed employers last month and my new work permit has no page for home address at the back anymore!

Asked HR to go back to labour office in Bkk and check if there’s anyway to put my home address in although there’s no page for it anymore. They claim they went back and the answer was no home address anymore.

Has anybody received a new work permit lately and managed to get their home address put in it?
