SATTAHIP: -- A fisherman about to set out to sea got hit by an unexpected wave as he towed his boat to the water.

Tawatchai Wongchai, 37, ended up in the water with his Mazda pick-up.

Foundation staff found him floating in the sea not sure what to do.

An EGAT six wheel truck was used along with a bit of rope to drag the vehicle from the three meter deep water, reported Tnews.

Tawatchai helped out by diving down and attaching the tow rope himself.

The accident had occurred at a spot near the Sattahip naval base where boats enter the water on a 45 degree gradient slipway.

Tawatchai hurt his foot and was treated at the scene but was otherwise unhurt.

He said he had been intending to do some fishing in his fiberglass boat when he was washed out to sea in his truck.

My mate always used to reverse his boat trailer into the water, obviously not caught up with that technique here yet!

Photo is from the good old USA. Is that what you mean by 'here'?

That pickup is now a piece of junk and unrepairable for what it is worth.
