A small clue. He played for a number of clubs in Europe, but never in the UK.

Must be said he could play in midfield as well, but definitely better known as a defender.

A bloody hypocrite as well it would appear!???? As to picking another....Ayala comes to mind but I don't remember him being classed as a defender.

No sir. Ayala was a centre-back. Undersized but had a boatload of headed goals anyway. Heck of a player.

 

Yeah, Passarella was a <deleted>. He also had a lot of headed goals as a defender. Great player but a <deleted> away from the pitch.
