Mother found dead after little girl asks neighbour for food

By The Nation

A mother was found killed in her rented room in Samut Prakan after her five-year-old girl knocked on a neighbour’s door to ask for food, saying her mother would not wake up.

The neighbour answered the door at 7pm on Friday, and alerted police after finding the body of Chandee Saengfa, 32 in her room.

Chandee’s new husband, identified only as Em, 31, had disappeared.

Neighours told police that the woman used to be a widow with one girl until Em moved in to live with her three or four months ago.

Her body sustained injuries to the chest and head.

The girl told the neighbour that her mom had quarrelled with her dad. She said her mother went to sleep and would not wake up, and she was hungry.

Sadly, another tragic tale of an small child orphaned as the result of domestic violence.

I hope the family can rally round and help her through these hard times, and, if guilty, the new husband is caught and dealt with accordingly.

Poor child, found her mother asleep (dead) new dad nowhere in sight and probably responsible, what on earth is going to happen to this poor little girl in her life.

Sometimes I hate this country :crying:

The image that is peddled about Thailand is that it is populated by ever-smiling people who never get angry and avoid confrontation at all costs. The reality is that Thailand is populated with many people who resort to violence over the smallest thing and that it is one of the most violent places on Earth with a gun murder rate double that of the USA.

So, according to Thai customs, a deep "Wai' + say before the cameras that "he is sorry" and 2 weeks Penitence at the nearest Temple will do.

It took me only 6 months to see the reality of the Thai people and Thailand.
A violent country where people are murdered out of pleasure, at a rate which makes the other countries in the world look as boy scouts and with mo respect to people/animals/life.

When a Thai "smiles" at you, it is not a smile but having a laugh with you and seeing you a coackroach.

That's a number quoted by an American news organisation. It's difficult to verify. Interestingly, when I go to the Wikipedia entries comparing gun deaths per 100,000 by country, Thailand is not listed.

It's a bit off topic as well, because the injuries sustained by the mother resulting in her death are not stated to be gun-related. Sorry if you think that's pedantic.

This story really touches me deeply when I am usually thick-skinned. The innocence of childhood finding mother 'asleep'.

Thank you sir , my thoughts exactly , bought  tears to my eyes.
