Man Facing Murder Charges after Fatal Hit and Run in Chiang Rai

CityNews – Chiang Rai police have arrested a man after a hit and run caught on CCTV was widely shared online showing a pickup crashing into and then dragging a motorcycle with two passengers almost 40 metres before fleeing, killing one and injuring another.

 

Charnnarong Krongrab, 38, was arrested on September 20 after police identified the pickup’s licence plate through at CCTV image.

 

The video, that caused an outcry on social media, shows Charnnarong pull out of a club late at night, hitting a motorcycle carrying two people.

Despite the driver of the bike bashing on the hood of the car, Charnnarong accelerated, dragging the passenger under his pickup. The passenger was caught in the axle and dragged almost 40 metres before coming loose. The passenger trapped under the car was killed and the bike driver was also injured in the incident.

Thank goodness it was caught on cctv, otherwise that disgusting moron would have probably got away with it.

Hope he gets jailed for life, no bail just jail.

Disgusting behavior by the driver , They were alive and he could have just stopped the car.  Murderer!

The motorcycle was braking pretty good and the truck was nearly stopped when the guy hit the accelerator.  Unbelieveable (anywhere else but LOS).

Yes & all because he may have been over the limit , & shouldn't of been on the rd, but also I think the food cart created a blind spot like many of them do

Though the bike was a little off centre the pickup bloke was either drunk, smoking a spliff or just nuts....
