YetAnother Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 driving in thailand just continues to look worse and worse
Bob12345 Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 As long as behavior like this is not punished it will only get worse. Will be buying some stuff for self-defense soon also. I don't mind a 200 baht fine if caught by police.

Dibbler Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 Did he already know the lady inside the car. Maybe more to this than road rage? Perhaps a domestic dispute...

Jonnapat Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 Thai men have no self control, see it everywhere all the time. See themselves as masters of the universe.

richard_smith237 Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 With all this road craziness going on it would seem a worth while risk to start carrying a Taser in the car !!!...
observer90210 Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 Thai roads are in a state of total anarchy in a complete absence of any credible authority or regulations. Rogue drivers have a sense of utmost impunity and this state of mind can overflow into other social interactions. The lack of decent and honest road law enforcement is disturbing and can lead to complete societal chaos with anybody considering being able to get away with anything, anywhere.

nahkit Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 The first few seconds of the video seem to show something flapping on the left-hand side of the car. Possibly an accident earlier?

Sawed off shot gun a better deterrent. But I travel weaponless except when I'm driving my two ton weapon. Anyone comes after me when I'm in my car will be sorry. I remember a story from Canada I believe where an angry driver got a tire iron out of his trunk to threaten the driver behind. The driver just gently moved forward and crushed the guys legs and pinned him. Don't bring a tire iron to a car fight.
007cableguy Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 The wife said it was a domestic with his girlfriend !.....As it seems ok to batter your wife or partner here in Thailand no punishment will follow!Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect

Something i wrote on another forum here applies equally here:And they do that because they know that the chance of enforcement is practically zero. It's like a cancer in society and leads to thousands of deaths and many hundreds of thousands of injuries on the roads each year. And unless a top VIP or member of the top family is injured or killed nothing at all will be done.

You see a dashcam video, someone gets out of their car and approaches another car with a weapon of some sort... you bet I'd hit the gas and run them over to get out of there, not sit in my car and wait for them to come to me! But most people in these videos seem to do the latter...
dinsdale Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 Thai male. Body of man. Brain of child. Nothing new here.

A simple can of pepper spray might be all that is required, and widely available at military outfitting stores around the country.Sent from my iPhone using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
mok199 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 pattaya police spend the day shakeing down young Korean and Chinese travelers with out drivers licenses whose only guilt is driving too slow and cautious

Say "I am sorry" in front of the involved parties at the Police station. 2. Say "I was .... (high on drugs; Epileptic; having a stroke; etc). 3. Promise to pay for all the damage (nobody will get a Penny when the charade is finished anyway). 4. Fill the "Brown envelop" and handle it over as a gift for the good work of the RTP.
badischer Barde Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Yes.. I'm very sure that the vast majority of traffic victims in Thailand die from beeing pulled through their car windows by an angry guy... That is the big problem here!
seahorse Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 What everybody so far has missed is that she tried to run him down. He's hanging on the front of the car.
katana Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 In Thairath they reported the man was the husband of the woman in the car and it was some kind of marital dispute.
Stargeezr Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Bear spray, a lighter or barbeque starter and a can of Hair spray, First use the bear spray, then if the jerk persists, hit them with the hair spray and let them know that you will torch them if they try anything else. Yes Hair spray is highly flammable! Geezer
