I did. I got a nasty look but she got the correct change. So I have to remember to count the change each time. It's not the 10 baht, which is nothing, but I think on larger bills it is more. It's the lack of transparency. Do they fail to provide correct change for BFs? I'm saying be careful and check your change. Nothing wrong in advising that. So much easier if they returned the correct amount. Imagine if you are with a group having a good time with a large bill and you don't bother to count the change as you never had a problem in the past. What have they deducted? I always tip but I want to be the one who decides how much.

Happens all the time...and not just one bar...and not just Nana Plaza. If not careful and diligent all the time, you will ultimately get ripped off.

Reporting it will only get you a stupid look and phoney smile at best. At worst, your ass kicked. Just count your change while the server is still there and ask for correct change. If truly a chronic problem, then vote with your baht and spend  it elsewhere.

It's the loss of face you've suffered, isn't it? Many farang, especially those who positively exude (self) importance, find the notion that they may have lost face to be debilitating. Counting every satang due them in change establishes for all to see that a Big Man is in the house and not to be trifled with.   I imagine you're quite the Diamond Jim when it comes to tipping too.

Pretty sure if you frequent this particular bar, you've probably already acquired a reputation. I can almost hear the girls telling one another to short you ten baht just to watch you turn puce with indignation.

Have they tried returning all your change in one baht coins yet?

What a clever comment.

In order to easily pluck a chicken you need chicken that looks to be easily plucked. Desperate sex tourists seem to fit the bill.

Can you give us a clue which bar in Nana only charges 155 baht for a drink?

The ones I go in charge 160 minimum.

As for your problem, instead of going out with only 100 baht (or larger) bills, take a few hundred in 20's   Then you can pay 160 baht for your 155 baht drink.

Buy 4 beers at the nearest 7/11 and take them home. Drink them while watching internet porn. Thank me afterwards for preserving your finances.

Buy 4 beers in the 7-11 nearest to Nana Plaza, sit outside drinking them, all the fun at a fraction of the cost.

Oh I guess my bad. Sorry to bother you.

No, no. I'm with you on this one. From now on I would pay the correct amount each time I received a drink from the bar lady/server...wotever. If I did not have the correct amount I would still pay for each and every drink I received....NOT run a bar tab...AND I would not let the server leave until I had counted my change....AND... I would demand any amount that I was shorted. Umm m, in the future I would also think twice about ordering any drink that didn't come in a bottle with a cap on it.

I am surprised you can get a beer so cheap, be it 155 or 165 baht.

Have you asked for the missing change?

Leaving a tip is customary, here they are enforcing it and although a bit cheeky I would be content to take the change offered and be happy with that, I saved 10 baht! Nothing new around here.

Yes, I applaud them for keeping the prices down. There's three even cheaper options on the top floor, though only on certain beers.
