More trouble in Pattaya: Violent Walking Street brawl caught on camera

A video which shows a group of foreign men fighting on Pattaya’s Walking Street has been shared on Facebook.

The shocking incident is believed to have taken place during the early hours of Sunday 11 February.

During the 45 second clip, which will not do anything to help the image of the popular resort, as many as ten men can be seen punching and kicking one another as shocked onlookers watch on.

A man in a yellow shirt can be seen punching and being punching by at least two other men.

It is not known the reason the fight broke out or if anyone was charged for their involvement in the incident.

The footage appears to have been recorded the same weekend another violent incident involving foreigners took place in Pattaya.

On Friday, an Australian man died after being violently assaulted in a bar on Soi 6.

Benjamin Matthew Robb, 43, suffered catastrophic injuries after being punched and kicked following a confrontation with American Jose Manuel Polanco.

Witnesses said Polanco stomped on Robb’s head “10-15 times”.

The Australian was taken to Pattaya Memorial Hospital where later died.

Polanco, who is in custody after handing himself into police, has been charged with physical assault leading to death.

Polanco said he acted in self defence after intervening when Robb was being aggressive towards a waitress, picking her up by his neck until her feet were in the air.

It might well be the hub of punching.

As it seems to have already been downgraded from 'world class' to 'popular', I don't see this minor fracas doing any more damage to its image.

Things are getting out of control in the family resort, maybe time to limit the number of families entering the resort.

I think incidents like this, and the poor Aussie guy will do just that.   Add the in-your-face sex, in-the-open porn and sex toys for sale and you have a natural family repellent.

I know lots of people back home that won't bring their families to Thailand.  It's a shame really, because a family with kids probably outspends the guys in these incidents by a wide margin.  Better hotels, days on the town shopping instead of shacked up nursing a hangover, more and better meals, souvenirs for the kids- all of them unsold because of Thailand's reputation.

True, they may sell more beer and bar fines...  But that's not how you maintain a popular resort, much less a world class resort.

Pattaya, the ubiquitous den of iniquity of all vices, where all sorts of flotsam and jetsam of society gravitate to,

go to pattaya by all means, but expect the worst of people to rear it's ugly head at any

given time...

Haven't been there for a while but that looks too narrow to be Walking Street.

Ban all vests and overpriced barfines- problem solved.

happens in every country with districts like in  Pattaya

Beer - drunk - women - fights.

At least they sort it out themselves, no pack @ the  back to 'help' pout a loser.

So in the end they (trouble makers) are all losers!

You wanna bet! They don't happen in the islands, they don't happen in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai, they don't happen in Nakon Nowhere but they do happen almost daily in Pattaya.

Pattaya is not a destination for younger kids,it’s an adult destination, you also don’t take your kids to El Arenal in Mallorca

I see the usual hysteria and hyperbole is strong on TVF

There aren't any wide streets in all of Pattaya! I believe it is Walking St, soon to be renamed, answers on a postcard to........

"Is this a private war, or can anyone join in?"

I see trouble in Pattaya seemingly on an all too regular basis. As far as I am concerned it is a very good place to stay away from.!!!

I don't disagree.  But TAT does.  They're propping it up as a family holiday destination.  But they have a looooong way to go.  Even longer today than 2 days ago.  Which means it's going in the wrong direction.

Typical poor reporting. The live action does not live up to the headline. A few punches thrown but it does not look as though any of them connected with lasting effect. Handbags!

Where is the police??? They coming always after....

Except for death island where that mafia family can murder and cause mischief at will.

Fist fights happen all over the world stop being silly..

  • Popular Post

That's a brawl? I've seen rougher play in a pensioner's square dance!

Fist fights yes, but stomping on a mans head 10 to 15 times (reported) is not a fist fight, it is murder.!!
