I'm more concerned about how most wealthy celebrities think they're an authority on these matters. And the scary thing is their fans take it all in. Two of the objects of celebrity marketing is to breathe life into a failing brand and/or to attract new users to the brand. In this case I would suggest both.

To be fair, it seems unlikely that more than a tiny minority of voters would base their vote on any celebrities opinion! They are 'useful' however, in attracting attention - and thereby swaying the opinion of those who 'aren't sure', particularly for the young voters who (for some reason) consider celebrities to be important.... Add in a few 'experts' support, and a number of those 'unsures' will start believing the hype .

If you had read the posts as you have claimed you would be aware that the comment by Mark Carney of £200 million per week related directly to the reduction of half a percent in GDP resulting from the brexit referendum. Of course you are perfectly free to claim any documented figures or reports as fake news, the same could be said of any brexiteer propaganda, could amount to an awful lot of gullible people.

The comment by Carney was unqualified. The reduction in GDP will have been caused by a multitude of things. He blames it on Brexit to bolster his cause. Project fear at it's subtle best.

So the state of the economy is irrelevant, nothing like a bit of head in the sand. Note the word "poor". While Britain’s growth rate was among the highest for advanced economies in 2016, it slipped towards the bottom of the 2.3 per cent average of these nations last year as Europe recovered. This year the 1.6 per cent forecast growth rate is poor relative to the 2.5 per cent average in advanced economies. https://www.ft.com/content/4f4f022e-420a-11e8-803a-295c97e6fd0b

sandyf
Another own goal from the government that the brexieers have put so much faith in. If it wasn't so serious it could be like something out of 'Yes Prime Minister'. Brings the whole immigration issue into question. Thousands of landing cards – recording dates of arrival in the UK – were thrown away, despite staff warnings that it would be harder for Caribbean-born residents to establish their right to be in the UK. The files were discarded in October 2010, when the current prime minister was home secretary, a former Home Office employee revealed. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/windrush-home-office-evidence-deport-theresa-may-david-lammy-a8308936.html
