BTW I think it's perfectly OK for active posters to click emoticons as and when they see fit, I think however that extensive emoticon clicking alone, in lieu of ever posting, indicates a very disturbed state, sick puppy territory in fact.

I wonder if all his emotions, were in supportive of your arguments, would you then be complaining.

Ridiculous article. From the Guardian, so any semblance of reality is fleeting at best. So none of these problems existed before the Brexit vote? I doubt it. Anti Brexit people are like anti Trumpers

Good article, and it makes the same point(s) that I have been making for a while.   The referendum was twenty months ago and the government seems not a whole lot more prepared for the conseq

A good and fair point, in fact, I don't like emoticons of any kind. I think the sport is in the debate, the arguments that can be found, countered and in the behaviour of the players - I'd be quite happy if they were done away with entirely because as we'll see in a few minutes they become a proxy for people formulating an opinion of their own and verbalising it, a very poor second choice. But I suppose society needs such people, otherwise Brexit, for example, would have almost no supporters!

Gentlemen. 89 pages of posts?  Really?  Is it the intention of the honourable members here keeping this particular thread open for the whole of the Brexit transition period?

No, just until Team Brexit comes up with a sensible argument, then we'll close it down and have a celebratory party. :post-4641-1156694572:

Well the May ready for tough talks over Brexit was at page 917 before it seemingly died in the wreckage of an Austin Allegro. I was previously confident of it breaking the 1000 page barrier (record?) but forecasts are often wrong, eh!

It was nice to see the pic of Naam's Jag though. Very envious I must say.

Won't be able to do that so easily after Brexit

Why not. This film is from before we were conned into joining the EEC, and then it was very easy to travel around Western Europe, so I cannot think of any reason why, after we’v left this so called union, that we cannot revert to the same travel arrangements. Unless those little dictators in Brussels decide otherwise. Though I don’t think the French and Spanish travel industries, amongst others would be too pleased.

Spain, Portugal, Greece and Italy would all use their power of veto to kybosh any EU attempts at introducing visa entry. It's simply not going to happen. It will continue to be passport entry, the same as always, for us.

Of course we only have the media's word for it that a committee meeting even took place.

"The committee’s Labour chair Hilary Benn said the divisions demonstrated just how difficult achieving an agreement on Brexit will be."

But I don't use passport entry when I drive round EU...I just drive.

I drove around Europe from the 1970s onwards, often in commercial vehicles carrying goods and I can tell you that the difference between 1980 and after 1992 was a breath of fresh air.

I think people are totally unaware of how day to day transport and business will find the UK totally isolated again

And thus Airbagwill shows us that he is totally clueless as to the UK's actual status within the EU. Will, we never joined the Schengen Zone. We have never been able to enter the Schengen Zone without showing our passports. We've always had to show our passports to enter mainland Europe, and we always will. Nothing has changed. I keep trying to explain this to you every time you make one of your comments about Brits (and their Thai spouses) not having free access to Europe post-brexit. I can only assume that you are not a British citizen, and/or have spent little (if any) time in the UK.

How was that destroying anything? The message was pretty clear. EU is strong and important. England is not.

Choose your sides carefully.

I have already chosen and I'm pleased to say it doesn't include you. He is just another remainer, like many on here who are so full of their own self importance, and to a certain extent some of our European friends are very keen to jump on the band wagon by insulting those that chose democracy, ie, the majority.

Why some remainers choose to be supercillious and think that without a post without a patronising remark is not really a post is totally beyond my comprehension.
