anybody ever seen microwave bacon trays anywhere in Korat city?

I don't know if Central has opened its last floor.  haven't been since they first opened, but that's the only place I could suspect of having them.  not sure why they are so hard to find in Thailand.

Few people eat bacon?  Also probably not needed as I recall we cooked fine between paper towels some 50 years ago (before they invented trays).

never seen that bacon rack before and I'm not sure it works very well, but.........

Ebay and Amazon refuse to ship such things here which is why I was looking for something local.

microwaving between paper towels results in paper being stuck to the bacon;  not terribly tasty.

thanks for the input!

Most items on Ebay can easily be shipped to Thailand and have been doing for years.  The other link was in Thailand.

Have you encountered high shipping prices or a item limit issue?

Not as long as from locations outside USA (where many sellers use high shipping as a means to lower posted price.  Many items are shipped free from both Ebay and Aliexpress sellers (almost everything from China is available that way - although price will be a small amount higher to cover cost).  As for limits have only been buying for home use and try to keep orders at or below 1500 baht to be sure customs will not be interested.

what I've encountered is that a $3 piece of plastic costs nearly $50, after import taxes and the like.

it's a $3 piece of plastic, for goodness sake.  I thought it might be available here at a retail store somewhere.  I'm not going to fly to Singapore to get one, either.

Not sure how you encountered tax on a $3 item.  Guess you must not have used international mail service.  There is no tax on items below 1500 baht in value by Thailand.  If ordered through Lazada they clearly state no additional cost for international items (although price may not be as low as ordering directly from overseas).

1,500 Baht = about $50  USD................for a $3 piece of plastic.

see, all the import duties, shipping and everything is rolled into one price.  it's a scam, but thanks.

1Gringo  You might be misunderstanding the 1500 baht figure quoted. That is a threshold that Thai customs might be using. Lopburi3 is trying to help you. You will not get charged customs duties on a small item mailed via postal service from China. 184 baht and upwards on Lazada. Some Microwave Bacon trays sold on Lazada might be already in Thailand with free shipping. Lazada might not be the lowest place to buy genuine name brand power tools, it certainly offers inexpensive options on plastic items. I've been receiving monthly global postal boxes from the USA since 2005 and have never once paid customs. Postal being the keyword. Not FedEx, UPS, DHL.

well, thanks.

I have two coming from America via an arriving friend.  I was only hoping that someplace like Central sold them in store.
