webfact
Thai motorcyclist, tourist fight over use of pavement By The Nation video screenshot An altercation between a western tourist, who insisted he had the right to walk on a Bangkok pavement and refused to give way to a Thai motorcyclist, turned into a fist-fight on Tuesday morning. The scuffle on a footpath along the Ram Indra-Pradit Manoontham expressway was captured on video and instantly posted at 9am by a Facebook user, Red Skull Reloaded. The Facebook user condemned the motorcyclist for driving on the sidewalk, which is illegal. The video shows the two men quarrelling while a woman, who was with the westerner, looked on. However, the two were later seen to hug each other after an apology was apparently offered. Popular Post Ramdas
Tourists should learn and adapt to the fact that there aren’t any traffic road rules and relgulations in Thailand, which means pedestrians are just mobile pawns at risk of being run over whether on the side walk or on the pedestrian’s zebra crossing, you are at risk of being injured at any given moment especially in Bangkok ! In this instance, the fat lump who tried to impose himself on the Thai guy miserably failed, although needless to say the police aren’t there to prevent this clash from escalating as it did considering that in the end the Thai guy would have got away with it in spite of the fact that he’s not supposed to ride on the pavement..Sadly, a foreigner is always a target in Thailand, I very much doubt he would’ve won a court cause in an orderly manner ? Popular Post wirat69
Foreign gentleman not much of a fighter.... he had plenty of opportunity to get a kick into the gonads.... AND he ignored the other motorcyclist riding on the footpath as well. Didn't he know that he could take their photograph (both of them) and be 1,000 baht richer now!!?? 6 1

Popular Post Thian
Well done Thai police! I hope this movie goes viral abroad. This is what the police wants, other people doing their work...did the poster of the video get the reward for filming this? That's what the police asked for some weeks ago...and the poster would get a few thousand baht for it. I also don't step aside for motocy's on the sidewalk but to me they won't start a fight. so strange. Also i'm very tired of motocy taxi's driving against traffic...when will the lazy police finally stop that? I see it every 20 seconds.

When will those stupid falang understand that Thailand doesn't want tourists, but only their money. (Wire transfer, Western Union, Pay Pal; preferably American dollars, NO Japanese yen or Russian rubles!!!!) Immigration officials and flight personnel could be put to much better use, e.g. helping with the rice harvest or curing those chronically sick buffalo. Popular Post observer90210
What is it with such brainless foreigner idiots comming to Thailand and behaving as if they were at home ? Do they not realise in their pigeon brains that abroad and in Thailand, the culture is not the same and things just don't work as back home ? One almost feels sorry for such stupidity and such ego (that often go together) Daily, I have people on their bikes almost bumping into me (wrong way, pavement etc.) due to their inattention or whatever....but [almost] always I get a smile when I give way and they nod with thanks....that's how it works here.... for the arrogant, the tatooed types or testosteroned and/or bodybuilt morons comming to Thailand just to boost their ego, they will bump into hard times.... Bob12345
The guy who filmed this should hand the video over to police: i've seen at least half a dozen motorbikes going over the sidewalk and he is entitled to half the income from the fines for that. Cause wasn't there a crackdown on motorbikes on the sidewalk some time ago? Appearently that has been another MAJOR FAIL.
