A post on Facebook said that a group of Thai men injured some female beach traders in an apparent dispute over customers.

The footage was shared to the popular site of Mem Pho Dam and viewed 160,000 times.

The poster said it happened on Saturday afternoon at about 4.30pm after a woman came to try and stop an attack on a man by a group of other men.

A 78 year old grandmother was also caught up in the attack that featured a stick and a metal pole according to the poster.

Police were on the scene but there was no report of any action taken as yet.

The poster described the attack as brazen in broad daylight in front of many tourists. He called 191 after the attack.

To my mind, this sort of thing gives a far worse image of Thailand to tourists than a couple posing on a Buddha monument, with or without panties showing.

No screams of disgraceful or 5,000 Baht fines dished out here though it seems.

This must be part of the paying respect to the elderly in Songkran ritual.

yes in full view of tourists, thats ok, we are Thai do what we like, nothing gets done as per usual, now if this were farangs having a set to, this would be a different story

It seems they were beach chair vendors.....if so, they're dreadful, arrogant as***les anyway!

6 posts and no mention of the fragile thai male ego.

Must be a new record on TV.

In every mass tourism destination in Thailand where there is a beach, access to trade upon it is controlled by thuggery. No difference here to any beach in Phuket, Samui, Pattaya, etc.

Why would they. They probably sent them.
