Who? Is that the name of the rescuers?

  • Huge kudos and respect to the divers who managed with the feat of getting them out through such a difficult dive.

First praise the divers and rescue volunteers instead of an imaginary friend.

The last helicopter with 2 more boys in is heading for the landing Chiang Rai hospital. Four boys have been taken to hospital so far and this is the last 2 in that group. This screenshot shows the emergency services waiting for their arrival at the hospital.

What sorts of diseases might they have been exposed to Sheryl?

Histoplasmosis is one big worry, especially since the cave (like most caves here)  is known to have bats

The weakest kid in the group has been treated by medics at the cave entrance and is still in serious condition but on its way to Chiang Rai Hospital now.

The above tweet would have been referring to the 3rd boy out, the one who was "code red" according to another tweeter. But he made it! If he can make it, they all can. Hopefully the water levels will remain low enough to give the rescuers a rest and they can do it all again tomorrow.

Great news they are winning

As Dave Allen would say" May your gods be with you"

A fair enough comment although am not a Buddha believer, but let them gain whatever succor from that  belief

IMHO  Monks should stay well away from this scenario as frankly they disgust me

This rescue  is Mainly due to the courage and knowledge of the cave divers regardless whatever god they believe in or supports them

Again - removed off topic posts.

If for some reason what you feel like doing at this moment is to squabble about religion or crack jokes at religion kindly start a separate thread elsewhere for it.

The rest of us want to focus on the boys and their rescue.

Apparently there will be press announcements/conference at 9pm

Good graphic on Thai CH 5 about how  they did this.

Diver in front, with tow rope to child in the middle, who is connected to diver behind, like 3 train carriages. All the child has to do is breathe, and let the divers fore and aft do the rest.

Still, easier said than done.

I'm wondering what happens after the PR juice has been squeezed out and somebody need to foot the bill. Hopefully the kids are out of the hospital by then.

And how does CH 5 know how it was done? Are they just guessing how it may have been done?

Did they plan to stop tonight? Surely they'll keep it going until they're all out.

If you're so skeptical, you'll have to ask them directly.

It seems plausible that they may have a reporter on the scene who has been briefed by the experts.

Who  knows  or   cares!   If  it  takes  two  fat  donkeys  and  a  carrot   to   get all  clear and safe  then let  it  be  so !

Fantastic, all my respect for the boys and those 1000 people who made it possible.

Perhaps that's physically impossible. Perhaps the divers need to rest, I'm pretty sure the slightest laps in concentration could end in a fatality.

Would I be right Sheryl in saying that we need daylight to survive , the thought of them in the cave for months didn't bare thinking about.

not at all a negative comment. actually a highly relevant and factual applicable one based on concern.

while you are on the barstool order another drink

According to reports they go straight to the 8th floor of the hospital which has been completely sterilised.

Helicopter landed safely and last 2 boys are being taken by ambulance to the Chiang Rai hospital to join the other 4.

Meanwhile the press conference has begun,

The Royal Thai Army owns and operates channel 5, thus the connection and information.

So anything and everything that is or has been reported about this operation by channel 5 should be taken as fact? Is that what you are saying?

I do. Facts are important. If someone is stating as fact about how something is being done then they should be able to support those facts.

Important  to  you. To the  majority  details  on  method  can  remain  in  the academic background at  this  time.

Original plan was 6 today, 6 tomorrow. some talk on CNN that they will stop for the night and resume tomorrow.

Nothing is going as planned and the news networks never get their stories straight. I wouldn't be surprised if they make it an all-night effort and they're all out by sunrise tomorrow. There's a race against time and water. Nobody expected 6 out by 9 pm. We were expecting to see the first one at 9 pm.

Well, they probably know more than you do.

Excellent news and to be honest about time, can we all now have/say/think a collective prayer/thought/moment of silence for the 40+ souls that lost their lives in a storm off the coast of Phucket which the whole planet seems to have just glossed over !! Disgusting state of affairs.

Awesome news..  Looks like the accurate number as of now is 4 boys out...
