Four people were killed and two others severely injured when a pickup lost control at a curve and crashed head-on with another pickup in the opposite lane in Prachuap Khiri Khan on Tuesday night.

Police said the accident happened on the Phetkasem-Dan Singkhon road in Ban Nong Nam Khao village in Tambon Klong Wan of Muang district.

A black Isuzu pickup ploughed into a white Toyota, destroying the front ends of both vehicles. A silver-grey Isuzu pickup was also grazed by the Isuzu and pulled up at the roadside.

Police said the driver of the black Isuzu, Direk Khiewwan, 49, was killed along with two unidentified passengers.

The front seat passenger of the white pickup, Pornapha Sripalakarn, 20, was also killed. The driver, her husband Aroon Suakhum, 23, was severely injured along with one unidentified passenger.

The injured were rushed to the Prachuap Khiri Khan Hospital.

The driver of the silver-grey pickup, Saifon Sornchan, said the black Isuzu lost control at the curve and veered into the path of oncoming traffic. Saifon said he swerved and the Isuzu grazed the right side of his truck before it crashed head-on with the white Toyota, causing a very loud bang.

They should build stands with seating along select spots on highways and charge tourists to watch this sport of pick-up jousting.

The delusional feeling of pickups being strong tends to give even Ferangs who should know better that false security.

Thailand needs to weed these bad vehicles out in order to reduce accidents.

Seems like the vehicles are doing pretty good, without intervention.

This is what happens when overloaded and modified pickups trying to take on the curve like a sports car.

and the driver who caused it, never received a proper driving education.
But don’t worry, every Thai knows he must have more than two kids, that will compensate it.
Over and out.
Now I do need to get back to the TV and watch thai- soaps to get some education. Otherwise falang don’t understand...

When will you ever learn --- It wasn't the pickup that lost control ...!

Avoid responsibility at all costs

In the UK they would do a rigorous examination of tyre tracks and  both trucks road conditions etc etc to find out exactly what happened. Do they do that stuff in Thailand
