Pet registration bill to be rethought after public fury and worries over fallout

A BILL approved by the Cabinet making it mandatory to register dogs and cats was derailed yesterday after pet lovers cried foul over the high fee for the registration document, and threatened to abandon their pets.

Supreme Court acquits six policemen in killing of teen

THE SUPREME Court has given the benefit of the doubt to all six policemen who had been convicted of killing a 17-year-old suspect during the government’s war on drugs in 2004, reversing the rulings of two lower courts.

Myanmar man ‘confesses’ he killed bearcat

A MYANMAR man on Thursday confessed that he had shot a bearcat while hunting at night in Sai Yok National Park in Kanchanaburi province, as his two companions were bad shooters.

UK govt petitioned to reinstate proof of income letters for British expats in Thailand

PHUKET: The chief of the Phuket Lifeguard Service (PLS) has today told The Phuket News that beachgoers should still be on alert for the dangers at Phuet beaches and should only enter the water were lifeguards are stationed.
