Arrival/departure landing cards no more!

Featured Replies

So many developing countries are taking this step. So much easier on arrivals, no searching for a pen and reading glasses and it speeds up the time going in and out.

Well, in Thailand this is not possible. The 30+ million tourists (so lied upon us by the Tourism Authority of Thailand) feed thousands of Somchais with these cards.

Do away with these cards and you generate a lot of unemployment.

On a more sombre note, those days are gone. In Thailand only the non-Thais complete this form TM6 and I always wondered, if/what they could decipher from shaky hand writing by foreign hands .........

Vietnam stopped them about three years ago, they have computers, and know how to use them  :clap2:

I meant with my remark, that thousands of "officials" are busied with punching in illegible information from these cards, stapling them into passports etc.

The printer's goose laying golden eggs is a different (albeit most likely true) story 8-)

Arrival/departure cards still need to be filled in when arriving/departing at land borders.
