Picking strawberries in Germany

Thjs is a strange story which I want to share.   I have been coming to Thailand for the past 5 years. 5 months ago I met a girl, not on the Internet but outside 7/11 at Samut Prakan.  She had a sad story her BF/Fiance died suddenly just over a year ago in Blackpool, England.   Have checked and found an obituary on him. I started a 'friendship' with this girl and came to Thailand beginning of September on a 3 month Visa to be with her.  The girl has never asked me for money but seems to have money of her own. She does not work but taking full time German lessons in Bangkok.  She has her own house in Surin.

She has been looking after me quite well but 2 weeks ago I got sick and took emergency flight back to the UK where I am now recovering.  However, this has nothing to do my story and why I am writing on this forum.  A week ago this girl is sending me messages on line and announced she is going to Germany to work at the end of this month.  News to me.   She said going for 3 months to pick strawberries and have been in contact with somebody on BKK to arrange visa. She is flying to Stockholm and then Berlin and then to Rostock to 'pick strawberries'.  My first thought was picking strawberries in the 3 coldest months of the year in Northern Germany. To be honest I not believe her.  Has anybody come across any Thai girls picking strawberries in Nov. Dec and Jan. in Rostock, Germany?  So I asked her about a Visa and she said not working Visa but have to hide and then work picking strawberries at 50 Euros a day. I have asked her who arranged visa and she is refuses to tell me.   I am not sure if something illegal is happening or she just lying to me for whatever reason, I know not.  Or maybe a bit more sinister.  Any ideas or information would be very much appreciated.

A 3 month stint picking strawberries is insufficient motivation to explain full time German lessons. Thoughtless attention to detail when lying strongly suggests apathy about whether trust is destroyed. Tell her: 'Oh! Guess what honey? I have a good friend in Rostock and I can come visit you there!", and see what happens. She sounds like a pro, definitely not her first rodeo.

Either a troll post or a real funny one

1) Going via Stockholm: there was a story recently about the high number of visas issued by Nordic consulates.

Still seems easier than via German consulate (a hard nut to crack).

A three month tourist visa is close to impossible to get a the Germans nowadays.

2) Illegal work with a tourist visa

3) Rostock, so famous for it's winter strawberries :cheesy:

4) German lessons for strawberry picking :cheesy:

Probably her German boyfriend has arranged a tourist visa for her.

Of course, you could always travel to Germany to  visit her and see if it is true. Suggest this, If she says no , then she's either conning you, scamming you or enjoying another's frankfurter
