I have probably only heard of about 20% of them, mostly from the 1960s and 70s, but I am old and my interest in music mostly died when Freddie Mercury died in 1991.

 

I was in Indonesia working with Motorola at the time.

 

At least with the 1950s to the 1990s I could understand the words and even stuff from the 1920s, 30s and 40s i enjoyed and still do.

 

Stuff from this century does little to nothing for me other than make me want to stuff cotton wool in my ears.

Tamla was a record label in Detroit, as was Motown records. Tamla Motown was the generic name that referenced the music that originated in my home city Detroit in the 1960's and ever since..
