Can anybody help me out please .

I have just received a (Safety Recall 18S06S1) notice from Ford.

It is all in Thai , and I tried to speak to my local Ford dealer and our language skills have failed us , so i am still non the wiser.

I am not able to take it in to Ford at the moment and I am trying to find out if this is a high priority recall.

any Ford owners please.

I tried that link , put my VIN in hit search and nothing happens.

Nothing?

Not even "not found" or the like?

As no Ford around I enter an arbitrary 17 character string and see "invalid VIN".

So you have to wait for a Ford owner.

I think I have got it  , it is for all four of my door locks.

They need upgrading apparently.

That's as far as i can get.

If I remember correctly the Ford Ranger was recalled last month in Australia for faulty door latches...seeing as these are built in Thailand that might be it.

Plugged my VIN into the ford.th recall check website that KhunBENQ kindly posted a link to and got the same as the OP, nada. So I reckon my 2014 build PX Ranger isn't on the recall list. But just to be sure, went through all 2,220 pages of VINS for all 128, 770 affected vehicles and it wasn't listed there so I would guess if the ford.th recall checking page doesn't do anything, then you don't have to do anything either.

...but then I got a wild hair up my ass and used ford.au recall check website and Bingo!

Strange that. I followed your link to Ford.au and bingo , my VIN was acknowledged and I was informed that my door latches need  replacing .

So these Fords were made in Thailand , but the VIN number does not work on Ford's Thai website , so you have to go to a foreign countries Ford website to find out if you should take your truck into a Ford dealer in Thailand ........ How Thai is that. ????

Maybe the ford.th thingmie isn't plugged in properly? Either way, you have the written summons and the online verification so hopefully your local Ford dealer's service shop is on the ball. In my experience with a couple of earlier, low-priority recall's, their Pattaya shop knew what I was on about, made the appointment and the checks/fixes were done within a couple of hours. The Udon branch (where I bought it) are also decent and don't dick around.

Good luck,

The Ford.au website is probably just looking at the date of manufacturing -> 2012 and later. Ford.th website is just not working ????

Information Technology (Thai). Never works. ALWAYS better to check any other country's site rather than the Thai one.

Seems like quite a widespread problem as the Ford F150 has the exact same issues in the US...maybe they should change their supplier of their door latches...

The glory of owning a FORD!

Ford Motor is recalling nearly 2 million pickup trucks to fix a seat belt defect that could trigger vehicle fires. ... The recall covers the 2015-18 model-year Ford F-150 made from March 12, 2014 through Aug. 23, 2018, in Dearborn, Mich., and from Aug. 20, 2014, through Aug. 23, 2018, in Kansas City.

Good to see the Aussies are up to Speed, as usual.

Who actually supplies parts to Ford? I guess they don't manufacture their own parts? I do recall once seeing parts in a fiesta/focus that were stamped "made in Indonesia". It seems to me it would be hard for Ford to check the quality of their parts during their production when they are made all over the place. Do Honda and Toyota outsource production of many of their components?

Humm yes and the door latch recall

While many drivers of the vehicle are able to close their doors, the door may open suddenly while the car is in motion causing the driver to fall out.

Damn and here I thought Thai car dealers were better than US ones, I thought I was reading a topic about uS car dealers.

PS: Ford trucks rock and yes, parts are outsourced. And most recalls are precautionary.

Ford made sh*tty "cafe" cars to satisfy the US Govt. Escorts, Fiestas and tinny crap like that

They have sold over 32 million F-150s in the USA. I have one with 298,000 miles.

Recalls are recalls. 20 door latches fail, and they all get recalled. Some are design, some are manufacturing. It happens. One of my Benzs got recalled. BMW too.

One question, I don't understand why the Ford Everest in Thailand and not the Ford Explorer?

Sydebolle.  My sentiments exactly. Good motors , but the " customer care " is appalling.

Cetainly seem to be the case in Nong Khai.

Meanwhile, in Udon Thani...
