OK not so much wind for Phuket, instead a lot of rain (looks like a direct hit for phuket with heaviest rain currently) but Cyclone strength winds will hit Koh Samui and Koh Phangan.

Suprised this hasn't been on the news more, On ThaiVisa..............Wonder how dangerous its going to be for Koh Samui/Koh Phangan , I want to go there !!!

Phuket will just get a lot of rain ????

Strengthening tropical system to threaten Vietnam, Thailand with flooding rain

After inundating the Philippines with deadly flooding, disruptive tropical weather now has its sights set on Indochina.

Tropical Depression 35W, locally Usman in the Philippines, impacted the nation late last week.

Catarman, Philippines, received 470 mm (18.5 inches) of rain in less than 48 hours from Friday into Saturday. Rainfall also topped 300 mm (12 inches) in Alabat and Legazpi City.

As of Monday, more than 60 people have died and at least 17 remain missing, according to BBC News. This is mainly due to mudslides triggered by the heavy rain in Benguet province.

Looks like it will affect other areas of Thailand a lot more than Phuket.

Hard to tell

It could change course and come a bit further south, then it would be a direct hit on phuket, too early to tell

looks unlikely though

Windy.com shows it's approach... see here.

And the TMD issued a warning this morning - see here.

Driving rain can be hard on the eyes when riding a motorcycle but not nearly as hard as Jai Dee's avatar.

Surat Thani (-> Ko Samui) included over the whole period.

And " Isolated torrential downpours" is about the strongest wording they use in the warnings.

Up here in Isaan, it has only rained once since 16th September. We could do with a drop.

Not much different at our area.

Some drizzle last week or so.

But cool/windy.

I got first ever notice from my foreign ministry regarding the Pabuk storm.

It's going to be interesting Friday evening and Saturday morning if the predictions are correct.

Looks like Phuket is going to get direct hit

Bugger Phuket, Songkhla and Hat Yai are in the firing line first.
