grumbleweed Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Quote Krabi taxi driver fined after not using taxi meter And so he should be, for besmirching the good name of taxi drivers everywhere
Bangkok Barry Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 He should be charged with damaging the image of Thailand and apologise to society. Of course, what the Thai's image of Thailand is is not the same as the image that others have, once their rose-cloured glasses have been lost.
Pedrogaz Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 A 1000 baht fine is nothing compared with the potential of robbing tourists. Make the fines large enough to deter the stealing. 1
Benmart Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Come to Pattaya and watch similar antics. No meter used for Chinese and Russian tourists. Just fork over 200 + baht, regardless of the distance. The same for songtaews acting as taxi cabs without proper licensing. What a sorry example of impotent will by those entrusted to enforce the law
PETERTHEEATER Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 The faceless blue-shirted individual has just made a public rebuttal of all charges using his green and white bullhorn and the press are cummin-a-running........????
worgeordie Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 " He has been fined 1,000 baht for his ‘error of judgment’. " error of judgement ? no error, he knew exactly what he was doing, and a small fine like that will do nothing to deter him and others taking advantage of tourists,I think they will call it a business expense. regards worgeordie
