January 20, 20197 yr AFAIK there are no conversion kits to add that function to actual TV but there are add on options using external box, like used for cable or sat system. Not elegant having extra equipment and controls but can work. As with a SMART TV you will also require internet access. A better option might be Chromecast where you stream from your phone to small unit connected to TV HDMI port - I have no experience with this but might be worth a check.
January 20, 20197 yr Chromecast works OK, as does Amazon Firestick. Can you not HDMI from your laptop or phone direct into HDMI on the telly?
January 20, 20197 yr Depends on your location, as some services may not be available to you do to the geographical location. I use a Roku unit in conjunction with an older LED TV. https://www.roku.com

Your TV will boot up with the box attached. Many Android boxes come with a single remote that controls both the old TV and the Android box attached.
