People injured after car smashes into parked motorbikes on Pattaya Beach Road

A number of people required hospital treatment after a car smashed into a row of motorbikes parked on Pattaya Beach Road.

 

Footage taken in the aftermath of the incident showed a badly damaged black Fortuner that had crashed into the motorbikes.

 

People can be seen receiving treatment on the side of the road.

Images shared to the We Love Pattaya Facebook page showed two ambulances at the scene.

 

The incident took place at around 11am on Tuesday morning.

No further details regarding the incident were known.

Could be the case but the odds are stacked against it being a responsible sane act.  Of course it could be another "brake failure".

AFAIK the maximum speed limit on Beach Road is 60.

Yes, there are a dozen things that could have caused the driver to swerve. Beach Road often resembles a 4-lane race track, but at least all the traffic is going in the same direction (well, not always).

Traffic police activity on Beach Road seems to be mostly outside the cop shop stopping motorcyclists with no helmet. They need to fan out a lot more to catch speeders and red light runners. 

God forbid that they should move far away from the air conditioning.

There used to be (till they mostly faded away ) painted on the road 40KPH speed signs 

no one drives along there at 40 KPH.
