here's another part of the story that is rather bizarre (i know you were thinking that seems too straightforward for a thai gal, no drama) i dated her on and off then after no seeing her for at least 1 year she calls me and we meet at a friends rca restaurant in bkk. there is where she proposes living in japan.  get this, we go to my place later that night and in the morning she tells me she knows i have another woman because she saw female clothing. i asked her after 1 year we get together on a whim and you condemn me for that. did she expect me to wait around doing nothing. i said wheres he logic in that. she agreed admitting she is illogical

So is paying a "Girlfriend Salary" Bad? It depends on how you look at it? If you understand the above conditions and set a few rules that you both agree to and you can verify, then maybe its ok? Most women you meet are not wife material, but can be a lot of fun! Just understand the rules and don't get emotionally involved.

always had a prenuptial agreement except with my first wife who i supported through law school ank knew i was legally entitled to 50% of all her future earnings after divorce.

Many st girls I meet with admit to getting monthly payments from boyfriends living in the EU as "support".  Yet it is never enough, 2-3 weeks into the month and the money is gone.  haha 

If you like the woman and she provides a service for you, pay her for that service.

That is my philosophy, enjoy being independent and don't want a full time GF at this point.

I know expats who spend more on western food and beer than they do on women.

paying for or paying a salary to girlfriend is akin to a thai man paying a girl to be his second wife except married man does not live full time with second wife, just visits. the second wife would NOT accept role without financial/material benefits, not about chemistry or mutual attraction.  the money sharing in a normal thai-thai marriage if the wife cares for children and takes care of home and thus cannot keep her professional career or works part time, man 70%, woman 30%.
